1. No thanks.
I don't agree with the shit about Ayers, but Obama doesn't need this story to stay front and center as he tries to get an agenda passed.

3. Uh, no
There are better ways to say "fuck you" to conservatives. Justice Hillary Clinton comes to mind. While Ayers has paid his debt to society, he is the type of person that would be helpful. All you would do is confirm the fears of the 25% of Americans who think Obama is a Muslim, and raise concerns in another 25%.

16. Agree with Cistini

I understand Ayers' frustration with the Vietnam War and I understand his wife's frustration with crimes against blacks.

However, Martin Luther King had shown the way to get change through non violent means.

So had Gandhi.

It took a lot more courage to do things King's way, but his was the moral and much more successful way.

Edited to make clear that I think the idea is a joke.

7. No loyal political advisor to Barack Obama would recommend it, which is not
to say that Ayers is not as qualified for another public service role as for the one he holds now.

A roughly equivalent question for Republicans would be how they can support Eliot Abrams and Oliver North in the public sector but scream bloody murder over Bill Ayers.

15. okay, I'm still halfway asleep, so maybe not the best of ideas
But I just wish there was a way to cleanse this country of the stupid character assassination of fine people or people who have paid their debts and are doing good work. It was outright atrocious for the Republicans to condemn Obama/Ayers when they were on a committee together to HELP CHILDREN.
