Michael Moore: Secretary of Labor or HHS? I can't decide. |
|
With the right advisers, Secretary Moore could kick some ass.
I would like to see good, passionate, intelligent, competent, trustworthy people in our government. He's one of those people I simply trust, even though I don't know him personally.

1. I like Mike but NO. That would be political suicide. You think the Clinton drama is bad? |

I don't think Cabinet appointments should be made based solely on the lulz factor.

|
Dennis Kucinich for HHS. And yes, I'm completely serious about that one. He's got the real health care plan.

That's why I supported Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for EPA, too.

9. Based on what experience, exactly? |
|
Michael Moore, love him or hate him, is basically a movie maker. I have no idea as to any experience he has otherwise.

11. As a movie maker, he has become somewhat of an expert in these two areas |
|
And while he has no actual government administrative experience, he certainly can run an organization well, based on his success directing, writing, and producing. In addition to his film making, his writing and speaking have proven him to be intelligent, thoughtful, reasonable, and persuasive.
He seems at least as qualified as others at high levels of government- what the heck did Tommy Thompson know about HHS going in? And Arnold or Ronnie? Yikes!

13. The three you mention had administrative experience |
|
Say what you want about their politics but Thompson was a Governor, Reagan was head of a major union, and Arnold is a businessman.

Mike is really good at what he does but there is no indication he would have the interest or stamina to be a bureaucrat. And there is damn little in his background to prepare him for that kind of work. Frankly, I think it would make him miserable.

18. Qualifications...does he have any??? |
|
Obama needs to build a competent cabinet which will actually try to fix the huge clusterfuck we're in, not just choose people to drive Freepers nuts or hand out crony rewards. The latter is what helped get us where we are.
Moore is a passionate researcher and documentarian, but does he have what those positions will take to understand the challenges and mobilize and lead others to tackle them?

HHS ! See what is called "horrifying" by the state of Tennesse but quite "acceptable" health care. We need affordable, acceptable standards of care. Health Care in America needs a Cure ! http://www.wisecountyissues.com
