While some people are distracted by Clinton and Palin nonsense
Someone is quietly going about his transition and already changing the world for the better...

Heavy lake-effect snow blasts Great Lakes

CONSTABLEVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — A blast of cold wind spread snow along the Great Lakes from Michigan to New York on Monday, dumping 2 feet on this central New York town.
Snow doesn't usually fall this early in Constableville, librarian Dorothy Valenti said.

"Yesterday morning we had none. So it's quite a transition to go from no snow to all this. When you open the door, it's amazing," she said in a telephone interview. "It's strange to have a snow day before Thanksgiving."

Global warming was high on the list of priorities, so just "cool" it!

1. As I type this, I am at a new coffee shop, ducking out of the snowstorm
And the manager admitted that this storm was an elaborate publicity stunt to bring in customers.

So now we know who's really to blame, but you gotta give them credit for admitting it.

2. Your comment is nonsense. The Clinton matter is our president picking our Sec of State.
Using your disdain for Hillary as a launching point for a lame ass globlal warming thread is so transparent even you would see through it.

3. I remember the 1950 Thanksgiving snow storm in Ohio...
I was all of four years old. One of my earliest memories.

The Thanksgiving snowstorm of 1950 was the deepest in Ohio’s history. Nearly the entire state had over 10 inches and most communities in the eastern half of Ohio measured 20 to 30 inches of snow during this storm. As the storm strengthened, winds increased to over 40 mph and a severe cold wave swept the state early on Friday November 24 th dropping temperatures to near zero. The worst storm conditions occurred on Saturday November 25 th as near-blizzard conditions prevailed throughout Ohio. By late in the day, snow depths reached 20 inches in eastern Ohio and drifts were 25 feet deep.

The classic Ohio State-Michigan football game was scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Columbus, the Big Ten championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl on the line. So with a Saturday morning temperature of 5 degrees and winds of 40 mph, the “Blizzard Bowl” was played in Columbus. Michigan won 9-3 on 27 total yards gained and without achieving even one first down.

The storm continued through Sunday and by Monday morning, snow depths reached 33 inches at Steubenville, 30 inches in Geneva, and 29 inches at Youngstown. Bulldozers were used to clear roads so that ambulances could reach those in need. The Ohio National Guard used Jeeps to transport people to hospitals and to deliver food to rural homes. Wires and trees were blown down by winds as high as 60 mph. Many buildings collapsed under the weight of 2 to 3 feet of snow and much deeper drifts.

I was also four years old, living on a farm outside of Wilmington at the time. I can't remember why, but my family got stranded in our old Studebaker out on the road somewhere and my dad had to hike out to get us help. We kids were only wearing sweaters or light jackets and we nearly froze. That's one of my very earliest memories, too.

ed. Since it was Thanksgiving I bet we were going to or from my grandparents' for dinner. I don't remember that part.

7. We lived on U. S. Route 20 in northeastern Ohio...
at the time. As this was before the freeways, it was the major east west highway.

We were isolated for as I remember for least a week. I believe that the National Guard finally cleared the highway.

5. It may be cold in one area of the country
but it's 20 some degrees above normal in central California and in southern California it's so hot/dry/windy they're on fire.

It all depends on where you are.
