Hillary Clinton to accept!
Hillary Clinton plans to accept the job of secretary of state offered by Barack Obama, who is reaching out to former rivals to build a broad coalition administration, the Guardian has learned.

Obama's advisers have begun looking into Bill Clinton's foundation, which distributes millions of dollars to Africa to help with development, to ensure that there is no conflict of interest. But Democrats do not believe that the vetting is likely to be a problem.

Clinton would be well placed to become the country's dominant voice in foreign affairs, replacing Condoleezza Rice. Since being elected senator for New York, she has specialised in foreign affairs and defence. Although she supported the war in Iraq, she and Obama basically agree on a withdrawal of American troops.

35. Me too.
She will make a good SOS and she's got Bill Clinton there to help her, someone who understands the realities of living in the real world with various types of heads of government. I never cared for her too conservative domestic policies but I think she will be able to undo a lot of the harm Bush did with his saber rattling, especially against North Korea and Iran. Maybe she will be able to do what Bill Clinton couldn't do and that would be to broker a meaningful and lasting peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

escape me.

Sometimes the leaks don't turn out to be true but they still reflect the official line of the person giving it out.

No argument from me.

Hillary is a very talented and brilliant leader in her own right.

Her tireless campaigning for Barack to the last moment won me over.

It's a great thing if he offers and if she accepts.

Hillary is accepting a job that hasn't been offered yet, as Richard Wolffe just said on MSNBC's "Race To The White House".

He wouldn't offer her the job until COMPLETING the vetting. What if there IS a conflict of interest? I don't buy it.

Either Obama pidgeonholed Clinton into the SoS job to keep her from running against him in '12... OR

Clinton is accepting the job as a huge addition to the resume she'll show us in order to make her more viable when she DOES challenge him.
