Clinton, Kerry, Richardson, here's my take |
|
I must admit, I am pretty surprised at all the attitudes around DU these days.
I was slower than most when it came to Obama. My instincts told me he was a little too young, too green and that yes, his time was coming, but maybe best not now. Oh my, do I remember the scoldings I got for actually expressing that in the early days of the primaries. In time, though, through listening to him, I came to the conclusion that he is EXACTLY what this country needs, right now. I trust his wisdom.
So now it seems that the same folks who literally took my head off for expressing those early thoughts, are now second-guessing him the most these days. Are you folks really ready to doubt and drop your support of a president-elect who HAS NOT EVEN TAKEN OFFICE yet, based on who YOU think he should choose for his cabinet positions?
President-elect Obama is not going to lose my trust in his wisdom by choosing a cabinet member I do not like. It ain't up to me who he wants on his team. And my vote for him, was a vote that he would look at his options and choose wisely. He convinced me that he wasn't too young, too green, and that his time was NOW. Jeepers, I thought he had already convinced most of you, long before I became convinced. How about we let him handle this?

Last I looked, he was still smarter than me. Of course, I have my opinions but I would guess that he has more information about his choices than I have currently at my disposal.
Belated welcome to DU! It has it's warts, but I love it here. If you can selectively tune out the wrangling, it's an amazingly interested place.

6. I won't drop my support of him. But that will not stop me from talking about who I'd like to see |
|
Personally that's all I'm doing.

7. He'll handle it whether we let him or not;) |

I like Richardson for one major reason - he wrote an article in the Washington Post on withdrawing from Iraq. His pick would indicate a an awareness and maybe even endorsement of that plan. It is excellent. He's also very bright and great with world leaders that nobody else can talk to (and leave with their heads still attached). 12. Supporting somebody does not mean abdicating our own right to our own opinion. |
|
I have not seen that many people dropping their support for Obama. I've seen people objecting to the media and others forcing somebody on them before the choice was made.
He will make his choice, but right now, he has NOT and those who tell us we should acclaim the choice the media and some unnamed sources have made are damn wrong.
