So, if Hillary does go to State, does the NY Gov appoint?
or is their a special election?

It would be good to see the folks working together.

1. I've been wondering the same thing. If appointing Hilary means losing a Senate seat
then it could be a mistake.

2. You honestly think a Dem can't carry New York? I don't think there is any chance we lose that seat

4. There's never even been an official confirmation that
she was even OFFERED the job.

What the hell, people? Do we just get rumors and run on them like they're totally true nowdays? Is this the Drudgification of our country?

9. Let's see...
"Secret" meeting.

Multiple leaks from the "leakless" Obama campaign.

Vetting aplenty going on.

Hmm...

You're right. Obama will Never take Rahm as Chief of Staff.

Ha ha ha....

10. THAT has been CONFIRMED.
Do you see the DIFFERENCE?

In this case, NOTHING has been confirmed. Nothing at ALL.

11. Rahm was all rumor too.
The vetting is happening. It's been offered.

It may not be her in the end, but the offer has been made.

Unless you think Obama's campaign has a leak problem or a spy.

Maybe you should warn them.

12. You mean you still don't understand???
The Rahm thing is a DONE DEAL. It was CONFIRMED. I'm comparing now to now.

This thing? ALL speculation and rumor. NOTHING has been confirmed. Sorry to burst that bubble. Until it is officially confirmed, it means NOTHING.

And I doubt it'll be her, too.

14. Rahm was all speculation and rumor too.
And then he was announced.

Hillary is being vetted. (Bill too) That is confirmed. I don't think it's to be the White House puppy wrangler.

5. Subscribe to the NY Times
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/15/nyregion/15succeed.html?ref=nyregion

<snip>

The buzz centered on the obvious (Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo), the unfamiliar (Representative Brian Higgins of Buffalo) and the improbable (Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg).

There were also candidates who appealed because of their political lineage, like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his cousin Caroline Kennedy. And there were those who seemed to be the safe, practical choices, like Representatives Nita M. Lowey, Gregory W. Meeks or Steve Israel.

Under New York election law, if the Senate seat becomes vacant, Gov. David A. Paterson will appoint someone. But, assuming the person is appointed in 2008, that person must stand for election in 2009.
