Who's To Blame For the Rising Number of Hate Crimes? ~ I'll Tell You Who!
The joy that I felt on election night - the relief, the elation, the renewed hope; they've all fallen victim to that 800-pound gorilla in the room. I now find myself in a near-constant state of inner prayer: "Please, God, keep our new President and his beautiful family safe. Please."
When John and Bobby and Martin were taken from us, the men who supposedly pulled the triggers were such nobodies, such losers; they evoked little more than silent contempt and morbid curiosity from the public at large. To this day we continue to search for the real culprits; some cabal of evil conspirators "worthy" enough to have committed such world-shattering atrocities.
And now I read that, since the election, there have been hundreds of "incidents", "hate crimes", and "threats" around the country. And I read about that preacher in Kansas who's been raving that we now have a "Muslim President", and that it constitutes a "sin against the Lord".
I do have some faith in the ability of the Secret Service to protect the First Family from most of the ignorant racist yahoos out there. But if, God forbid, the rhetoric evolves into actual violent acts, well, this time I know precisely who to blame - It will be YOU, Mr. O'Reilly! YOU, Mr. Limbaugh! YOU, Mr. Hannity. YOU, Ms. Coulter! You, Mr. "Christian" Preacher! ALL of you lying, racist, hate-spewing assholes! You will ALL share the guilt.

8. Yep. people here get mad at me for saying it, but the next piece
of violence that happens, they ought to be prosecuted for inciting it.

2. Right wing hate radio is yelling fire in a crowded theater when there is no fire.
They should be held accountable for the violence they incite. If they are not, all they need is to convince one very crazy person to shoot.

Yet, I must disagree with your assessment of the JFK, MLK and Bobby Kennedy murders. There is one very clear association running through all the assassinations - Organized Crime. The FBI ignored it and the CIA covered it up. Yet recent documents released by the FBI and CIA indicate that these government agencies knew about the Organized Crime connection yet did NOTHING to prevent the murders.

How do you like that? A bunch of criminals determining the political direction of our nation and picking and choosing for all Americans who our leaders will be. It sounds just like the Republicon party.

These people couldn't convince a nation, through propaganda and manipulation, to vote for their mafia boss, so they resorted to murder. Sounds familiar.

3. You are exactly right. The problem is right-wing hate radio, plus Fox.
Apparently Rush/Sean/Weiner is all that rural country people ("real Americans") listen to, and Fox "News" is all they watch. They seem to get information from no other source, just filthy hateful lying right-wing nutjob gasbags on the radio and TV.

Alas, I have no idea what to do about this. First Amendment rights, and all that. But how very sad for America that so many of its citizens are unwittingly deluded in this way.

7. Who is to blame for allowing an atmosphere of hate to continue because we fail to challenge it
directly and indirectly?

If you are in fact worried that the Secret Service or the police arm of the federal government won't in good faith protect the first family from the hate mongers, why don't you spend some time doing what the spotters do for the hate crimes groups?

Publish their activity/movement for the public at large.

I know there are those on this board who care less what 'freepers' have to say, but if you feel like they are driving us into a hostile racial atmosphere that will spawn an attack BY ALL MEANS tell us who they are and what they are doing.

9. can i add one more name to the list
Sarah Palin. Her rallies were instigating a lot of people, and she did nothing to correct the crowd when they shouted things like "terrorist" and "kill him"

For creating and maintaining a permissive environment for this to take place in.

16. I've been poking around Freeperland the last few days for laffs
and the fucking authorities should be monitoring them with great interest. RimJob just might be getting a visit from the Secret Service if his moderators don''t tighten things up. The racism and paranoia have reached Himalayan heights over there.

21. Don't forget Palin and her "fire and brimstone" hate rallies.
I continue to argue that the more the MSM is taken with this woman, the easier her message will be mainstreamed across America. Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter and the rest have only paved the way.

With the anger coming from the folks who are unable to deal with the new President-Elect, these charlatans have ignited a powder keg.
