8. And he'll flaunt this....rub our faces in it....why not? He's just proven he's invincible!
Hell, in my local county central committee if a member outwardly supports a person other than a Democrat the are removed from their position. Not in the US Senate, though, Oooohhh Noooooo. We not only welcome them back w/open arms - we allow them to continue serving in leadership positions!

No reason for him to help the Democrats now - there is nothing we will do to him if he screws us (again).

4. That if the people of CT allows this to continue.
BTW... Who's running against him in 2010? That is the cleanest way to get rid of his ass.

I'll say why fight it, keep him. Then in 2010 kick his ass to the cliff.

10. I think you mean 2012
WAsn't he part of the 2006 election? Regardless, I'm sure there is a good Democrat to run on the Democratic ticket whenever it is. I think Joe is going to retire because he knows CT will not elect him again.

44. Unfortunately, it's 2012, not 2010 --
I made the same error last week. I guess two years of Lieberman time is equivalent to 4 years of Democrat time, or something because it sure felt like 4 years to me, too.

5. If the Dems win GA, AK, and MN,
it will be a long time because the Dems will have a super majority, if one includes Sanders. Lieberman will be powerless. Besides, I suspect that the people in Connecticut will not soon forget about lieberman and his traitorous ways.

13. He has the power of the Chair - he lost nothing,
He was a tratior to a fellow Senator - the man who is now President. And Democrats in the Senate bascially THANKED him for it! (wonder how Harkin voted - if he voted for loyalty or voted for friendship (ha! some kind of friend).

25. I realize all of this
But if the Dems have a super majority, lieberman wouldn't dare go against the party, at least not too often. He is nothing but a slimy opportunist. And as far as Harkin, if he voted to keep lieberman on, he will be getting a nasty email and/or phone call from me.

I know the President elect wanted him in so that influenced the vote, but I'm sure Lieberman will backstab us again. If we get to 60 with him included, who's to say he won't bolt anyway?

43. Sorry
Lieberman has the chair of Homeland security till after the 2010 election at least. He can do whatever he wants to hurt Democrats. He sold out Bill Clinton In 1998,Al Gore In 2000(during the recount) and the entire party In 2007/2008.There Is nothing Rahm can do to him till after the 2010
election since they just rewarded him on his attacks on Obama and the party. He could use his chair of the Homeland security committee to help Republicans In 2010 and to help set up their challenge to
Obama In 2012.

45. I didn't say that, did I?
What I did say is that the Dems having a significant majority are in a position to pressure him on a whole range of issues, including those his committee is working on. I was actually in favor of stripping the Chairmanship, but attempting to see the new reality in the best possible light.

I believe he still has power and will use it (and now he has the aura of invincibility...really...what the hell will we do to him? Scare him for a couple weeks and then leave him in the same position he was BEFORE he screwed us?).

I'm sure I'll learn to move on in time - and accept that nothing is really changing in D.C. - not exactly what we voted for.

call Lieberman, too, once my headache has passed. Between being angry and my head hurting I'm pretty lucky I was coherent when I talked to Reid's staffer.

Lieberman, however, deserves a well thought-out put down. So I'll compose it when I'm feeling a bit better and can deliver it forcefully.
