So are we now the Janitorial Party?
Lieberman doesn't even get a slap on the wrist and Reid feels like he has no reason to apologize for it?
You can tell me all fucking day how Holy Joe votes with the Dems 99% of the time. I don't give a shit. He turned on the Dems during the most important election in American History, and once again the spineless Dems hand him a knife and show him their backs. LIeberman didn't just "vote against the dems" he said our candidate took armor from troops in the field. He questioned the patriotism of our candidate. He slapped us all in the face and now he gets a free pass.

We have become a party of Janitors. We used to be the party of ideas and compassion. Now we are nothing but a clean up crew for the Republicans. Repugs fuck up everything, we come in for 8 years to clean it up and while we are cleaning we are happily "reaching across the isle" to "work together" with the people who blamed us for all the problems they created. Giving them ample opportunity to prepare for when they get back in office to steal as much as they can again.

I'm going to give Obama the benefit of the doubt, and let this one slide as party politics. But if he truly wants to be the change candidate then the change needs to come from within. The party needs to stop listening to the fucking media. The country is not "center-right" the country is fucked right and it's going to take a serious spine to stand up to the people who fucked it up and get it moving left again. Otherwise it'll be 8 years of fixing it then 4 years of blaming Obama for everything that happened during the last 12 years (Clinton gets the blame for Bush's first 4 years) and 8 more years of war, recession, lies, pain and death.

1. Excellent post. I don't understand the calls for "bipartisanship".
When they had the WH and Congress for 6 years, there was ZERO "bipartisanship". Why should we give into them?

3. "...there was ZERO bipartisanship."
Which is precisely why we now have nearly full and total control of the government (a Begich win, Franken recount win, and Martin run-off win away from that).

People do not want one party to rule with an iron fist. Like it or not, Republicans do represent many millions of people in this country, and any time you turn a deaf ear to that many people, you can expect to be slapped in a big way. If we want our majority to sustain where theirs failed, we have to do things differently than they did.

5. People on the far ends maybe but don't think for a second that
DU and FR are representative of the right and left. And if you think that Republicans don't want their party to rule with an iron fist you must have been asleep for the last 8 years. It's time to stand up for the left the way the republicans stand up for the right. People say they want change, well Republicans ruling with an iron fist while Dems either cower when they are out of power, or "reach across the isle" while they are in power has been the norm for years. You want real change? Then it's time the Dems ruled and showed the Repukes how you can do it all. Make money, serve your country and it's people and lead the world all at the same time.

4. 'bipartisanship' is a GOP code word
saying it's time for the Democrats to bend over and grab their ankles.

They've succeeded in turning the Democratic Party into a subservient branch of the republican party.

2. It's like some strange spousal abuse situation. We clean up and then get smacked and come back.

6. You've nailed it exactly, especially the middle paragraph
The same pattern repeats over and over. The Repugs loot the nation, then allow the Democratic Party to take control just long enough to re-establish the economy and the infrastructure, then they loot and rape all over again.
