5. Sigh. This place is giving me a headache again. I think I'll |
|
have to leave for a while.
Plus it seems like a lot of folks who had, er, left for other boards, are flocking back to spread their own particular brand of "joy." (Read self-defeating, depressing nonsense.)

6. When our lovely majority Dems first act is to reward being crapped on by |
|
a FORMER Democratic Senator I don't think we can post about puppies/kitties or rainbows.
Is this what the next two years are going to be like? Getting stabbed in the back and just smiling? Are we also going to pass the GOP's proposed legislation just to keep harmony? Not propose any of our own that might 'upset' the poor dears?
We have two years until the mid-term elections - I hope our new administration decides to do something for America in that time.

7. We have bigger fish to fry. Why are we giving Lieberman so much credit |
|
and I'll tell you this much, with the impending retirements of Stevens & Ginsburg - I'd like to know that we have Lieberman as part of the defense against the filibuster. And Lieberman is 100% pro-choice - go check his Naral rating.
I am not a fan of Lieberman nor am I happy he is in this position. But Obama wanted the dems to take the high road and oh, that includes Joe Biden in there defending Lieberman too.
Right now Freepers are probably reading all these 'doom & gloom' posts and having a great laugh that 2 weeks after not only a great presidential election but serious defeat of even more republicans in Congress we're already out there turning on our own.

9. Mr. 100% NARAL rating was campaigning w/Ms. Abstinence Only a couple short weeks ago |

So I'll take his loyalty pledge on just about anything with a grain of salt.
As for the 'we're doing their work for them' argument - who wouldn't be pissed at Lieberman's betrayal and our Senate Dems acquiescence? How kindly are the GOP house members treating Former Member of Congress Jim Leach? His name has been in the running for a seat at OUR table.
We do have bigger fish to fry - b/c now our Senate Dems look like a bunch of hand wringers when it comes to tough decisions. They haven't acted with clarity or with strength. They whimpered and sighed and then handed over whatever power they had to the big bully who picked on them. If this continues ANY argument in the 2009-2011 session will be a joke. Just give the GOP what they want and maybe they won't say mean things to us or about us any more.

12. I'm not worried about loyalty pledges I'm worried about moving forward |
|
which is why Barack has asked Reid and the Dems to take the high road. Obama asked this of them and they followed - can't fault them for that.

We can disagree with what they did. We will have to accept it but we don't have to like it.
