I was all for Lieberman actually getting kicked out of Democratic Party and understand why people are so upset by the Democrats who voted to give another chance.

The thing is that Lieberman had to eat his words. Yeah, it's easy for compulsive liars and turncoats to "change their ways" on a dime, but the legacy that Lieberman leaves behind is one whose words and actions mean nothing.

"This is the beginning of a new chapter, and I know that my colleagues in the Senate Democratic Caucus were moved not only by the kind words that Senator Reid said about my longtime record, but by the appeal from President-elect Obama himself that the nation now unite to confront our very serious problems," Lieberman said after the vote.

(snip)

"There are some (statements) that I made that I wish I had not," Lieberman told reporters. "In the heat of campaigns, that happens to all of us, but I regret that. And now it's time to move on."

Who knows what backroom deals and horse-trading went on for Lieberman to survive for another day, but his words now are cheap and he will fall in line for the next and many challenges ahead.

1. He'll fall in line
right up to the point where the repukes need his vote to sustain a filibuster. Likely on something like the repeal of the Patriot Act or MCA or something.

3. What statements Joe?
What a bunch of bullshit!!!!

Joe was seen in practically every photo shoot the last 2 weeks of the campaign as McBush's lapdog (or a few steps behind).

He spat on President Elect Obama at the rethug convention!

And now he has regrets???

How can anybody believe this?

6. Actually that would be the question to ask Joe...
So what statements, bubba? The ones where you thought McCain was legit? The ones where you pulled out the trusty GOP Fear Card and said Obama couldn't handle them terrorists hiding up everybody's ass?

Yep. Someone needs to ask him... as if it even matters...

4. I don't think it matters what anyone has said. Lieberman is "using"
the Democratic Party and the Party is "using" Lieberman. Apparently, the Party leadership thinks that his vote is worth the price and I tend to agree although I loath Lieberman.
