I'll be goddamned, the sky is still falling!
We are still 63 days from Obama's Inauguration, and not one cabinet member has been announced. The only people officially in are a handful of White House staff, yet we are "already betrayed" and we "elected republicans" and "there is no change".

Good god, get a grip.

Obama is not a magician. He is a methodical and very intentional planner. He has is working on a big picture. A big agenda. He has to save this economy first and foremost. He has about 200 immediate, emergency corrections to chimpy's orders. And then he has the very un-envious task of pulling this country out of the ditch that chimpy suicided it into. We have a LONG way to go. Obama and his team know what they are doing. They are working hard to ensure success. It probably doesn't look like you predicted, or have seen before, and that is because he is doing it right.

6. My expectations
Edited on Tue Nov-18-08 03:54 PM by 90-percent
Our newly elected former PROFESSOR OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAW better be on his game restoring our Constitution to it's original meaning.

Now we have a Constitution that has been forcibly raped by the White House for eight years that needs a lot of work and rehab and professional care to get back to physical and mental health.

I expect Obama to offer this hope to all of us and the rest of the World.

The Constitution contains the ideals and principals this country is based on, that all that fought in all our wars gave their lives to defend, and we better god damned well get back to honoring it properly as a nation!

The Constitution is not just a goddamned piece of paper and anybody that would make such an ignorant statement should be impeached for ignorance and hubris!

the Constitution is the embodiment of all that is good and generous in American hopes and ideals and the rest of the world is hoping all America restores the Constituion to it's role as intended by our visionary and great forefathers.

-90% Jimmy

23. No need to take a pot shot at Kucinich, or his supporters,
especially considering he asked his supporters to caucus for Obama in Iowa as their second choice, and asked that they get behind Obama when he, Kucinich, was dropping out.

24. I agree
The whining on here by DUers are by people who never worked in govment. Politics is politics. The whole Lieberman thing is political. Obama will have to get legislation passed and they need him regardless of the stupid shit he said and did. Remember this...Lieberman said all that crap and his guy still lost. Makes him a double loser.

Obama will need him when it comes Supreme Court time. Think of the big picture folks.

Unfortunately, right now Eric Holder is sitting at the lonely round table at the Attorney General's spot playing tic-tac-toe against himself.

32. I reserve the right
to discuss politics, to speculate, and to criticize when the mood strikes me. People have done this since the beginning of time, and I don't think it's going to stop now.

What we need is for all the self-appointed board nannies -- who want people to sit with their hands folded and eyes cast down -- to just STFU.

This is about the 10,000th thread on DU telling people they shouldn't discuss politics.

Screw them all.

45. By all means keep up the discussions, that is why we are here.
But, there is a difference between honest political discussion and "sky is falling, we are screwed" bullshit.

Two months until Inauguration and judging that we have "no change" is stupid, and those saying that.....Screw them all.

Everywhere you turn there are Clinton people. If I wanted the Clinton's to remain a force in our party I would have voted for Hillary. I don't know why he has to appease these two and make them out to be sooooo important. I want a new direction- not a trip back to the past.
