Anyone notice that the Franklin mint is already hawking Obama coins on TV?

I collect old plates, but I haven't seen a plate worthy of my collection. Yet. That coin is a bit bizzare. I'd be more impressed if they were able to cast Obama's likeness in silver. Color? Bleh! I can do that on my computer.

12. You should have seen all the t-shirts and hats and pins and posters and stuff that street vendors

were selling within a 10-block radius of Grant Park in Chicago two weeks ago. (Yes, hours before the official announcement.) It looked like the parking lot at a Grateful Dead show.

(I admit, I kinda stocked up. Except my friend and I saw one shirt with a picture of him grinning in front of the Presidential seal with a caption yelling COMMANDER IN CHIEF BARACK OBAMA - #44 - FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, and we both liked it, but we agreed we were way too superstitious to buy it at, y'know, 7 o'clock before they'd called any states yet.)
