LOL Obama Owns Lieberman.
Ya gotta admit. The man is brilliant and he's just getting started.

Not only does he know to keep your enemies closer, but he knows how to USE them. Ha ha.

What's Lieberman going to do but go out of his way to show he can cooperate with the Man? LOL Can we say anti-filibuster insurance?

Then he picks Holder as Attorney General. Shweeeet! Somebody who knows what that job is supposed to be. Holder doesn't remember me, but I remember him as a prosecutor and a judge. He's a great guy. A true superstar! He will transform that office.

What tickles me about Holder is to hear the right wing scream. He will pass confirmation with flying colors despite their ugly innuendos. They got some nerve trying to criticize this guy, what, after Alberto Gonsalves!? Alberto couldn't even be a clerk for this guy.

So far, so good.

2. He looked uncomfortable for sure.
My parents, who are Rethugs, expected Obama to help kick Loserman out. They sure were surprised. My Mom said, "well that Obama sure doesn't hold grudges". I was laughing.

5. It was a VERY savvy political move
What makes it even more delicious is that the Thugs now equally hate Lieberman as much as the Dems. This wanker is in that undesireable location known as "between a rock & a hard spot".

I'm absolutely loving it. Now that's what I call Karma!

Lieberman is part of the Senate for at least the next two years. After that, all bets are off. Meantime he doesn't dare make a misstep or he'll loose his chairmanship and all standing in the Senate. A very big deal if you are part of that club.

Now we got some legislation that needs to be passed, and passed fast, and Obama just guaranteed a vote in "Our" favor. Or would you prefer that Lieberman was made an unpredictable rogue for the next 2 years, holding his vote for ransom?

This is politics, this is the way it is played. LBJ was a master at it and he was able to pass all sorts of civil issues that helped those ignored and trampled on by the Republican party. Here's a list of some of the things that Johnson accomplished:

Major legislation signed
1964: Civil Rights Act of 1964
1964: Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964
1964: Wilderness Act
1964: Nurse Training Act
1964: Food Stamp Act of 1964
1964: Economic Opportunity Act
1965: Higher Education Act of 1965
1965: Social Security Act of 1965
1965: Voting Rights Act
1965: Immigration and Nationality Services Act of 1965
1967: Age Discrimination in Employment Act<54>
1967: Public Broadcasting Act of 1967
1968: Bilingual Education Act
1968: Fair housing
1968: Gun Control Act of 1968

Kinda makes you proud, huh? BTW, when Johnson was VP he overcame southern resistance and convinced Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which outlawed most forms of racial segregation. Johnson signed it into law on July 2, 1964. Legend has it that, as he put down his pen, Johnson told an aide, "We have lost the South for a generation," anticipating a coming backlash from Southern whites against Johnson's Democratic Party. In 1965, he achieved passage of a second civil rights bill, the Voting Rights Act, that outlawed discrimination in voting, thus allowing millions of southern blacks to vote for the first time.

Kinda makes you proud, huh?

Johnson was right about loosing the Southern Democrats, but I do believe that this election is going to turn that around.

If Obama can do half as good - We're going places, baby! And I intend to sit back and enjoy the show. You should too. The Democrats have been out of power for a long time, and this country went to the dogs. For the first time in a long time, I believe we have elected a very smart political leader that has a vision of the direction this country needs to go, with the intelligence and will power to get it done.

13. BagNewsNotes also has that take on lieberman.."Obama's Art of War"
"Obama's Art Of War"

"Now that the Obama era is underway, consider this the first illustration (and casualty) of the new art of war. (And, I'm not talking about the way Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Bolton, Bush, McCain and those other cavemen thought to practice it. I'm talking about something a lot more Taoist.)

In June, Obama hit Joe with the stick (taking him to task for disloyalty on the Senate floor), and yesterday, he finished him off with the carrot. In allowing Lieberman to retain his chairmanship of the Homeland Security committee after Lieberman played footman to McCain and banged away at Obama for months, Lieberman stays in the Democratic fold but in a severely weakened and dependent state.

"But then, words are superfluous in comparison to this brilliant picture by Getty's Mark Wilson. Not only does a chastened Lieberman wear the face of a schmuck, in the absolute center of a sea of reporters, he commands the attention of no one."

(lieberman's schmuck)
