1. no one but a complete jerk off or a slave owner
has time to fill out that joke of an "application."

6. I never got past "Have you ever done anything that might embarass the PE?"
I can't even remember some of those.

19. Don't bother ever applying for a job with a security clearance then b/c
they will all ask you those questions.

The Qs are meant necessarily to exclude people.
You just have to cough up all of the goods on your life for 2 reasons:

So no one is caught off surprise.
And you can't be blackmailed into doing anything b/c your boss already know.

23. I filled out the application and I never had to answer a question like that...
I know people have said that question was on the app, but it wasn't on the one I filled out. It was all standard stuff...

27. Yeah, I just filled mine out, pretty standard
no overly personal or surprising questions, took maybe 20 minutes to fill out.

13. It's true
It's a ridiculous application. But the application was similar when Bill was President.

2. I know someone who may get a very good appointment
and I've been talking to him about going with him.

But I don't know whether it will be financially or logistically feasible.

I'm in "wait and see" mode.

5. that'd be awsome
I live close enough to the city so I wouldn't have to relocate and I have no dependents, save for a cat, So I can afford a little pay cut, otherwise it would be too much of a burden.

The idea of walking in the White House Gate every morning is alluring.

They are actually recruiting me. Not nearly as glamorous as it might appear though... and actually actual across the street at the OMB.

I certainly wouldn't mind working at the OEOB.

15. I am a thought leader and subject matter expert in a very small niche industry
The federal government has a lot of cost in this area, but it is maybe 0.5% of the federal budget. It is basically glamorized bean counting and process design in controlling certain types of cost. Really Boring stuff.

16. Sounds cool, if I were you I'd take it if you can afford to
Seems like it would be an amazing experience to serve the President in any capacity. Plus if you stick around for a few years you may get promoted to something more glamorous.

7. I did, but basically it started as a joke at work
then I got notice of an impending layoff so it's not that much of a joke now. I wouldn't mind working on the White House website.

18. I applied
Would relocate too. I would like to be a part of this, however I am well aware that there will be hundreds of applicants for each position and I don't really have any good connections. So I am not expecting anything, but will try as hard as I can.

Why not add to the zillions of applications they have already, just on the longshot they need someone like me. :D
