19. Don't bother ever applying for a job with a security clearance then b/c |
|
they will all ask you those questions.
The Qs are meant necessarily to exclude people. You just have to cough up all of the goods on your life for 2 reasons:
So no one is caught off surprise. And you can't be blackmailed into doing anything b/c your boss already know.

23. I filled out the application and I never had to answer a question like that... |
|
I know people have said that question was on the app, but it wasn't on the one I filled out. It was all standard stuff...

It's a ridiculous application. But the application was similar when Bill was President.

2. I know someone who may get a very good appointment |
|
and I've been talking to him about going with him.
But I don't know whether it will be financially or logistically feasible.
I'm in "wait and see" mode.

I live close enough to the city so I wouldn't have to relocate and I have no dependents, save for a cat, So I can afford a little pay cut, otherwise it would be too much of a burden.
The idea of walking in the White House Gate every morning is alluring.

They are actually recruiting me. Not nearly as glamorous as it might appear though... and actually actual across the street at the OMB.

15. I am a thought leader and subject matter expert in a very small niche industry |
|
The federal government has a lot of cost in this area, but it is maybe 0.5% of the federal budget. It is basically glamorized bean counting and process design in controlling certain types of cost. Really Boring stuff.

|
Seems like it would be an amazing experience to serve the President in any capacity. Plus if you stick around for a few years you may get promoted to something more glamorous.

|
then I got notice of an impending layoff so it's not that much of a joke now. I wouldn't mind working on the White House website.

Would relocate too. I would like to be a part of this, however I am well aware that there will be hundreds of applicants for each position and I don't really have any good connections. So I am not expecting anything, but will try as hard as I can.
