They showed Stevens on CNN... all by himself walking down a long hallway. |
Guess his friends are avoiding him.

5. Is he really going to jail? I'd thought they'd let him do something else. |
What a terrible way to wind up a career.

8. Sure. Deep down I feel just being someone like him is the worse punishment. |
His Hell is wherever he goes. (I stole that from John Milton but it seems true.)

11. I expect he will get some time |
They threw the book at Cunningham and gave him something like 7 years and he was a decorated pilot that was the role model for Cruise's charachter in Top Gun.
I don't think that there is a lot of guidelines for bribery because the prosecutions are rare, but I think Judges view it as a severe crime and I would expect that he will get something - even a couple months.

12. He doesn't have any friends...he's a miscreant, those who |
"hung around him" used him for his perceived power. Now that he's a convicted felon, people will avoid him like the plague. This is a GOOD thing, the next people that "greet" him, should be guards at a Federal Pen...:D

16. Don't worry. Like Nixon, someone will conjure up an appreciation for Stevens. |
It always happens with the GOP somehow. They manage to make lemons out of lemonade. They'll scrub old Ted's faults and put him in a reverent place like Strom Thurmond, Ronald Reagan or Lee Atwater.
Unfortunately though, there are a lot of other people who will see through their BS when they do it.
