Obama, congress will probably repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" in a year |
|
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/18/dont.ask.dont.tellHope he does it and Congress goes through with it. Interesting that attitudes have changed since 1993. I was 17 then and people were much more resistant to this then they are now.

1. This is good. Don't flame me, but I have a suggestion to the President-elect. |

Please get some of the former military officers who are in favor of repealing DADT in front of this early. This IS doable in a year. And with a solidly Democratic Congress, even more so. The current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs has said that if Congress repeals DADT. the military will go along.

year in terms of gay rights. I have had many gay friends and I hate seeing gay marriage banned in 3 states. Things look good in my state though, CT has made gay marriage legal. Hope it stands.

4. Obama never said he would get rid of Loserman, who happens to be my Senator unfortunately |
|
But I think this will pass. The majority of the public is for it.

I have a feeling that after Obama's first term, America will be moving ahead once again - not backwards as we have been doing over the last 8 years.

6. Even the homophobes can understand that discharging people with valuable language skills is idiotic |
|
Don't Ask Don't Tell is not only discriminatory but it is also a huge waste of resources and hinders our military's ability to do its job.
