CNN Breaking News: Auto Bailout Vote Cancelled
Edited on Wed Nov-19-08 09:14 PM by hnmnf
Is this news that was reported earlier today? ITs been listed as Breaking News on CNN for all of Larry King so far. Is this old news today?

Edit: Larry just said that Harry is delaying the vote because he doesnt think he has the votes

2. I personally think it is very important to pass this
so if they don't have the votes now, by all means take a little time and get those votes. I am sorry I missed your thread, but I am just tuning in to the news for the night.

Sam

5. It looks like they are punting to chimpy, which will do no good.
I guess the Big three will just have to try to make it until Obama gets in.

3. I think it's the same news. Maybe Larry King wanted to break it a second time.

4. Harry needs to force those who are willing to accept another depression
...by voting against a bailout no way out by holding a vote.

Its not like a bill cant be reintroduced later, but get those who would throw our economy into chaos on the record!

7. I agree
If there is no vote, then the democrats will take the blame if something bad happens. Put those republicans that are against helping the auto industry on record as voting no, and then when the republicans try and come back down the road and blame it "all" on the democrats, there will be proof who really caused the problems. The whole game plan for the republicans from now till the next elections will be to put all the blame for the economy, and every thing else, on Obama and the democrats in congress. We need to beat them at their own game and make sure that it's all on record!

13. I think that it is complex and they are going to need more time

Questions about what kind of cost cutting measures the Big 3 are undergoing need to be looked at.

The private jets have to go.

Wonder what else is there?

8. I want a recorded vote.
Then I'll know whose challengers get my money and time in their next election.

Shelby and Corker are already on the list for refusing to disclose the non-domestic automakers operating in their states and how much $$$ they managed to finagle from them and their managers and workers.

11. Welcome depression
... Chapter 7 liquidation of GM before Jan. 1, 1 million unemployed by February...

... With GM down, Delphi goes down, the entire U.S. supply chain collapses, Chrysler goes down and Ford will be hanging by its fingertips...

... my dad's probably going to be out of work, FWIW.
