Will the silly "birth certificate truthers" go away after the inauguration? |
|
I'm guessing not.
:eyes:
They're as committed to their narrative as the loonies on our side that insist that 9/11 was an inside job.

1. No, they'll simply accuse John Roberts of being in on it... |
|
.... they'll say he's being paid off, or his children are being threatened or something. These people have no concept of "shut up."

2. Birth Certificates should be printed sideways! |

Not down!
Only a conspiracy would make them printed down that way!

3. No, it gives them special license in their minds to obstruct |

and act like assess even more so than usual. If anyone believes they are prepared to even behave as reasonably they did even under Clinton, then I suspect you're in for disappointment in a big, big way.

This birth certificate crap will only assist them in justifying their actions. There's lots of anger on the right. We've just seen the tip of the iceberg as it were.

8. They will use it as their excuse to regard every action Obama takes in office as illegitimate |
|
and to think of him as the pResident of the United States, just as we did the election shenanigans that put Bush there twice.
The difference, of course, is that we had serious reason to do so because there were legitimate election shenanigans, whereas this birth-certificate crap is phony outrage over a matter that was settled long ago. But that makes no difference to them. What they needed was a credible (to themselves) built-in excuse for being able to say "He's not MY president" for as long as he's in office. So they created one.
And if that ever went away, they'd start jumping up and down about ACORN, and how Obama was elected by voter fraudists registered as "Mickey Mouse." Even though there's no evidence of it. Why, just yesterday some freeper was on the radio with Randi Rhodes, telling her he has it on good authority that ACORN bused a bunch of voters from New York state over to vote in Ohio, then they went back home and voted there too.
From now on, the opposition to any president never has to recognize his legitimacy again.

13. If this is all it takes to keep them occupied, let 'em stew. |
|
Anyone with a cell and a half of gray matter knows this is foolish. The Honolulu newspaper didn't mysteriously print a birth announcement for a baby born in Kenya. The State of Hawaii didn't accidently issue a birth certificate for a kid born in Africa. These people are only making themselves look nuts.

The inauguration will just fan the flames.
Hearing him sworn in, repeating his middle name, laying his hand on that bible. Oh yeah, they're just gonna renew their hatred for him.
It's gonna be an ugly presidency. Think back to all the retarded Clinton hate that got flung around (Vince Foster, etc.), and then multiply it by a factor of ten. And count on a couple assassination attempts per year too, because you know words won't be enough to satisfy the haters who will demand action. It's gonna be ugly.

I still know that asshole occupant was not legally elected and I haven't gone away so I doubt that they will give up either.
I hope that 8 years from now after 5 years of prosperity and a few years of peace they are still out railing to the heavens that he is not really the president. I welcome them to my world.

"No"
This is going to be the excuse they use to attempt to claim President-Elect Obama is an "Ursurper" and an "Illegitimate President". They're already trying to push the meme that not only the military doesn't have to follow President Obama's orders "because he's not really the commander-in-chief", but it would be illegal to follow those orders. Same with any laws signed, they will claim they're "invalid" and 'illegal".
And even if the birth certificate is (again) claimed as real, they're already loading up their next arrow - the claim that due to having had UK/Kenyan citizenship at birth as well as US citizenship, means he's got "divided loyalties" and is unable to be president. Basically the arguement is that there are multiple "tiers" of citizenship, and just because someone is born in the US doesn't make them a "natural born" citizen in the eyes of the constitution.
To say their reasoning is flawed is an understatement.
And ironically enough, one of the big names in the whole lawsuit chorus IS a 9/11 "truther", Philip Berg.

Or Britain? We haven't had a war with them for over 200 years, we must be about due for another one.
