Damned if you do, damned if you don't |

If Obama picks new people with no experience that nobody ever heard of:
"Who are these people? He needs to surround himself with more experience! You can't just come off the street and run a cabinet department! What is he thinking!?"
If Obama picks experienced people that have a track record:
"What's with all the retreads? Where's the CHANGE we were promised?!"
By definition, to be a Democrat with the requisite cabinet-level executive experience means that you worked in the Clinton Administration (either that, or the Carter Administration - do we really want those old geezers?)
No matter what names are floated, the criticism will be there.
Which is why I'm glad Obama doesn't listen to all the batshit crazy idiots on the left or right and is simply hiring the best people for the job, regardless of how they built up their resume.
By the way.... Daschle and Napolitano have no ties to the Clinton administration, Holder and Hillary do. That's 50-50 for all you math-challenged folks.

2. This is a known smoke&mirrors debate argument that sidesteps the REAL issue. |
|
There IS something in between Clintonites and novice. The choice is NOT either a Clintonite or someone totally inexperienced. That is a false argument.
It is not true that every experienced politician in the country worked for the Clintons.

5. Every politician with EXECUTIVE BRANCH experience, by definition, HAS worked for the Clintons |
|
Or is a governor or former governor.

4. People don't want to give him a chance |

The attack dogs started within days of his election and will continue to nip at him at every turn regardless of his decisions.
Then the sheep will believe whatever is printed, spewed from their squawk boxes or the talking heads in their living rooms.

6. That's why people want what they perceive as the finest damnation possible |
|
I don't think anyone pretends there is a riskless, empirically brilliant, "safe" way to go here--I think people just have their own ideas of what the best road to Hell would be.
