I have a theory... I think this whole Hillary as SOS is just a ruse...a |
|
smokescreen, to keep the press away from what is REALLY going on...
Hillary was NEVER ASKED... Hillary does not expect to be S O S. Hillary will stay in the Senate, all this talk about Bill and Hill being vetted is just a diversion.
Bill and Hillary and Barack are doing this just to pull the wool over the greedy reporter's eyes, keep the REAL stuff that is going on, as far as selecting, vetting, and finalizing the President's Cabinet all hidden away.
Hillary is in on it, as are her staff, and Obama's staff, giving false leaks.
Why? To show that the press should seriously CHANGE and start reporting on the issues we face, and not a horse-race for Cabinet seats.
Anyone think I'm nuts? Fine! I've been wrong before, but has anyone had any reason to think these "leaks" are real?

probably not true, but it's pretty plausible. Nice work.

Smokescreen - yes.
I also agree (believe) that Hillary's not serious about SoS - it would be a small step up and then a VERY BIG step down. She MAY be willing to go this route, and after her stint explore other possibilities, but her Senate seat is a bird in the hand...
To teach the press a lesson of change or something like that: no.
Why the smokescreen? Don't know - because it's working!

4. Could be at least partly accurate. |
|
Wouldn't be the first time a politician has floated a controversy to provide a smoke screen. All the talk about Clinton has given him free rein on the other appointments. People have been so caught up over Clinton they've barely looked at Holder, Daschle, Napolitano, and the rest. And the Clintons might help him out with something like that.
Though that wouldn't necessarily preclude a serious consideration of Clinton for SoS.
