Everywhere I look, it's Hillary, Bill, Hillary, Bill.... |
|
Everytime I put the TV on, it's always Hillary.
On DU, all kinds of posts loving Hillary. They seem to have taken over DU.
I for one, AM SICK OF SEEING OR HEARING ANYTHING ABOUT HILLARY.
The main reason I was glad to see the election over was I figured no more Hillary.

Obama should name Richardson as his SOS right away and Hillary should return to the senate. All this media frenzy and leaks all over the press about this SOS saga, is a clear indication to me that Hillary should not be Obama's SOS. They just don't fit. This drama is way to much and it would never end. We don't need it. Enough of this soap opera. I can't believe I initially thought this would be a good idea.

What is wrong with you people? Did you drink some leftover "Clinton-hatred" Kool-aid that the right wing drank back in '93? It's bad enough when the wingnuts STILL spew their venom over the Clintons each and every time their names are even MENTIONED, but it's appalling to hear it come from a supposedly left/progressive site. This sucks, and you have obviously been watching far too much cable t.v. Try doing something else sometime besides listening to nonsensical and BULLSHIT propaganda about either Clinton.

Hillary and Joe have been friends for far longer than he and Obama. Joe speaks so glowingly of Hillary that it prompted Jill to say: "we know Joe that you love Hillary" during an interview when he kept going on and on about her. The hate is prevalent on the LW blogs even more than on the RW ones at this point, but it doesn't affect the people they are putting down. Hillary, Barack and Joe get along just fine.

|
First, he lets the public vetting take place, so that media gets to pick over the pick thoroughly.
Second, he gives her and him room to back out, if the public vetting gets too troublesome, which it hasn't.
Hillary is talented. Not all the drama around her is created by her. Much of it is created by those who obsess about her.

Let's go back to talking about the Palins.
Why would we want to talk about Democrats, especially a former president, and a close runner up for the party's nomination, who is a US Senator and a candidate for the top cabinet post?
Maybe, just maybe, Obama does not see the Clintons quite the way that some of the overly zealous Obama supporters here did. That would be embarrassing after all of the acrimony and feuding that dominated DU for weeks on end, wouldn't it?
This illustrates the problem with cults of personality. You could break your necks because you have to make so many sudden and radical changes in direction to stay loyal to the object of your affection.
These people are all politicians, operating in a representative democracy, not spiritual gurus nor rock stars nor fascist demagogues.
I was a strong supporter of Kucinich, but I am not going to excuse what I saw as a poor Kucinich organization and badly run campaign.
I was a strong supporter of Edwards, but I am still going to express my opinion that he betrayed his supporters.
Why the need to hate or love any of these politicians?
Why don't we stand with each other, rather than tearing each other down over these silly and superficial loyalties to different personalities?

|

And they'll do the same thing with Obama.
There are two story lines being told. One is about Obama and his picks. One is about how the Clintons fit into that. Both are to be expected.
Most of the talking about the Clintons comes from people who hate the Clintons, or people who are paid to inject controversy into media.
All the people running around with their hair on fire, peeing their pants over Hillary becoming SOS, are the problem this time. The Clintons have been exemplary the last two months, and I expect they'll do great work in the next few years.
We fight during primaries. We get over it in general elections.
The number one reason Democrats have a problem getting things done is we have too many people who think if everything they want isn't done, the party has failed. We are a country run largely from the middle.
