I Voted For Barack Obama For President
I have somewhat of an interest in who he selects for his cabinet, but I'm definitely not as obsessed as some around here. Hillary wouldn't be my choice as SOS, but probably neither would Kerry or Richardson (and I like both of them a lot). Fortunately, it's not up to me. It's now in the hands of the guy I chose to make those decisions. I'm going to trust him to surround himself with smart, effective people to help him do the work he has ahead of him. I came to terms long ago with the idea that I might not be happy with every decision he makes. But, I also decided to give him the benefit of the doubt on those things I might not support, just to see how things work out. I wish more people here would too. The hand-wringing around here is always a little amusing to me, though some of the "concern" is getting kind of tiresome.

1. Some of it passed "tiresome" days ago and is now heading for
the asteroid belt. Some of it, however, is sincere, rational and on-point.

I'll come to my own conclusion only after his team is assembled and he takes office. Until then, this is mostly just a crabby session around the (cyber) cracker barrel.

2. Hear, hear. Let's wait and see how the cabinet works once they've all taken
office. And remember, Obama has shown that he's very good at making things work.

3. Obsessed is the key word here...
We won and now the hole has to be filled. It's all at once funny, stupid and creepy.

7. The whole 'trigger' thing is weird -- one misstep and BOOM he's just as bad as Bush!
Silly. Fear-dwelling myopia.

11. I think it has to be ..
straight from the mouths of the media...with all channels being well represented. Kind of hard to believe that the tv still has the power it does at this late date. Sad.

12. I agree
All throughout the primaries, the biggest criticism against him was that he was "sooo inexperienced". Now he's surrounding himself with people who are experienced and everybody's like "That's not change"...

You just can't please all the people all the time.
