True Story About The White House
When my older son was about 4 or 5 we took him to the zoo in DC. After we had been there a couple of hours it started raining so we left, but it ended as quickly as it had come, so we decided to take him to see some of the monuments. We went to a few places (Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Viet Nam Memorial & so forth), and then we took a little tour of The Capitol and then we walked over to The White House. There was a large crowd of protesters there and what looked like a whole lot of media. It turned out they were filming a scene from the movie 'Murder At 1600' and all the signs the protesters were waving had had a fake name we didn't recognize (Clinton was president then). We watched them film for a little while and then my son walked up to the White House gate and asked the guard if he could use the bathroom. He chuckled a little and told him he was sorry, but there weren't any public restrooms there but there were some over at the Mall. My kid said, "You mean as big as that house is you don't have ANY bathrooms!" Everyone within earshot got a big kick out of that, including the guard and a bunch of the extras playing protesters who laughed out loud.
