Obama issued bench warrant by city of Memphis!
http://www.kctv5.com/video/18025390/index.html

On a date that has been written down in history for the nation and for Barack Obama it has also been written down in the Shelby County Court House in Memphis, TN, but not for the winning election. The President-elect and future 44th President of The United States would likely have been ‘bench warranted’ for not appearing in court for an illegal placement of campaign advertisements by City of Memphis Public Works employee, Gene Soucy, who cited Barack Obama personally and not the local campaign office for the placement of campaign signs. According to Soucy, 512 campaigns signs were illegally placed on right-of-way land in the city which is an area that the City of Memphis prohibits. The bench warrant was actually intended to be placed for Barack Obama on the date of election, November 4th, the same day he was voted into office as President of the United States of America by millions of voters.

After the original court date of November 4th was missed, a bench warrant in General Sessions Div 14 was about to ordered by a judge who was sitting in for Judge Potter who was absent from his bench that day.

However, the date was reset after attorney Javier Bailey a Democratic State party member was notified.

Currently, under the booking number 08725976, the name Barack Obama is listed under a Class C action for Illegal Posting/Advertising Signs with now a court date of December 8, 2008 at 1:30 PM.

2. Bwhahaha! And I'm sure Obama did all this by his lonesome self.

What's more important? Juggling the future of the free world or answering this bench warrant (not that I want him to break any laws or anything...)

18. Okey-dokey. I'd have AG-designate Holder look carefully into the
municipal files of the City of Memphis, just as a spot check, if you will, to make sure that there was no corruption, no violation of ordinances, and that all members of its government were sqeaky clean and angelic.

Then, findings in hand, I would ask Mr. Soucy, and the Mayor, and anyone else involved in this idiocy if they'd be more interested instead in a barbeque luncheon with President Obama, in Memphis, say in early March or so, to discuss meaningful reforms in national policy that might benefit the citizens of their city.

20. Just for kicks, President-Elect Obama should show up at the court hearing
Edited on Fri Nov-21-08 08:39 AM by Old Crusoe
on Dec. 8.

Michelle and the girls should accompany him. And the new dog.

Vice President-Elect Biden and most of his family should tag along as well.

There would be of course the residual security contingent, plus a contacted-in-advance media circus, flashbulbs flashing and mike cords tangling.

I'm thinking a 2-hour Panel special on Larry King, to include Nancy Grace, Ann Coulter, Brit Hume, Ralph Nader, Willie Nelson, the Hasselback woman, Camille Paglia, Noam Chomsky, Amy Goodman, and Donny Osmond. You want a Panel Larry can work with.

The Democratic leadership should attend as well -- Van Hollen, Reid, Pelosi, etc. -- the whole bunch. I'd include Ted Kennedy for star power and invite Arnold & Maria along just to thrill Memphis onlookers.

Needless to say, a local theater troupe should arrange for Huck Finn lookalikes to gather in and around the Courthouse. Huck lied to slavers to protect Jim; Huck lookalikes can be gathered to show solidarity for Barack Obama.

Expect Anderson Cooper to do his show live from Memphis that day.

If Crosby/Stills/and Nash were NOT interested in doing a free Memphis gig for this date, I would be very surprised.

The fine should be paid in coins.

African American candidate running for state rep. Bench warrant for unpaid tickets was issued while he was putting up signs and he was arrested publicly. It reinforces a stereotype. More of the same.
