I'm curious what your opinions are here. Richardson, Kerry, Clark? Anyone else?
Please say who and why.
I look forward to your answers...:hi:

3. I'm honestly posting to learn here.
I don't know. Kerry has experience, it seems, but doesn't excite me.
Richardson, I'm not sure if he is qualified.
Clark seems like a good choice, but I'm not familiar enough with him.
Am doing research now, for a conversation I had earlier with a friend, and thought I might get an idea from you all!

9. I don't think excitement is a good qualification for a diplomat anyway

2. How much the job pay?

I've been to Germany, Canada and was in a plane when it stopped in England for passengers. I have more foreign policy experience than Sarah Palin. Oh I have executive experience I was treasurer of my 4-H Club.

4. I really like Richardson
I live in New Mexico, and have been here for 6 years. Coming from California to New Mexico was a real culture shock as people here tend to be a little complacent (New Mexico uses the term "land of manana"). I have seen Richardson make some changes that have helped New Mexico come into the (at least) 20th century. Not only that, but I find Richardson to be down-to-earth - I can see him as good for our foreign relations.

15. We only have a little while longer with Bill, anyway.
He's done a great job as governor.

I'd be sad to lose him for the next couple of years, but I would love to see him back in an important role that requires the kind of diplomacy at which he has proven himself to be more than capable.

7. Bill Richardson
Experienced diplomat. No connection whatsoever to the Iraq war or PNAC foreign policy. He's the one to restore our standing in the world.

17. Not Hagel
His election fraud machines were partially responsible for the existence of our "long national nightmare" of the last 8 years (or the worst 8 years of the 28 year nightmare). He does not get rewarded with the State Department.

But I'm really liking the idea of him chairing the SFRC.

16. Agreed. Kerry would be great, but...
...I think he'd be better off in charge of the SFRC, with Richardson (who, remember, wouldn't have to give up an elected position) as SoS.

I just feel he is the right man, at the right time. This is not the 90's. I think the "influence" of big dawg and mrs. big dawg abroad are way too over-rated.
We have some serious, dead serious issues to deal with. The Clinton drama queens will not serve us best IMHO.
They had their chance, and we know what their priorities were when in power. The Clintons had 8 freakin years to leave their mark on the world. When many were busting their asses to solve problems in the Middle East, for example, Bill was ...well you know.
