I can't believe Obama is really gonna do this.
Make Hillary Rodham Clinton his Secretary of State, arguably a position more powerful than even the Vice Presidency. On one hand, I'm excited. On the other hand, I have trust issues. But apparently Obama knows what the hell he's doing so I'm gonna ride with him on this one.

Y'all might as well get ready to welcome the Clintons back into your lives.

THEEEEEEYYYYYYY'RRRRREEEE BAAAAAACCCCKK!

7. As long as she and Bill CAN'T TOUCH welfare, I'm OK with them
He decimated the safety net worse than even Reagan.

14. They're both drama queens, and I think they're going to try to
undermine Obama. They won't want to take orders from him.

20. Remember, the SoS serves "at the pleasure of the President"...
In other words: they try to undermine him, and she's out on her ear (and probably out of politics for good).

26. If this was a deal, or part of a deal, that Hillary and Obama cut before he got elected, she
may have to mess up pretty badly before he fires her. And, he may not always know when she is pushing her agenda.

25. you'd better hope Obama doesn't either, then.
"conservatives — and Bill Clinton — were right about welfare as it was previously structured: By detaching income from work and by making no demands on welfare recipients other than a tolerance for intrusive bureaucracy and an assurance that no man lived in the same house as the mother of his children, the old A.F.D.C. program sapped people of their initiative and eroded their self respect."

Barack Obama "The Audacity of Hope."

6. Harry said she could get a fancy title, and Ted wanted her on his team. I
heard Camp Make A Dream had a meeting with her last week and they were setting up a realistic mock swearing in ceremony.

8. I would have liked to see Kerry or Richardson in the postion...however
I think it's fair to give Obama a chance and see what happens before complaining about this pick. There were times during the election where people would be worried about his decisions, but he would always end out on top and one step ahead. So he has earned my trust in that regard. Until I can see where Clinton is being a problem as the SOS, I will have faith in his decision and wish her well.

9. Personally I'm divided about it. But I reserve judgement until they actually start DOING
things.

Look at the Dallas Cowboys - supposedly the most talent rich team in the NFL and they suck BIG TIME!

The game is played on the field, not in the locker room.

22. He might but he is smart enough to know that the world loves
Bill and Hillary Clinton, especially Bill. No other president and 1st lady in our history has been love by the world over as much as Bill and Hillary Clinton. And, I suspect that when Obama leaves office in 2016, the world will love him just as much and then we will really have a world that loves this country again. And just imagine that in 2016 if Hillary runs for pres and wins, we could have 16 years of Dem rule. This country would be back on track and maybe better than it ever has been.

27. The world already loves Obama. Celebrations around the world
when he was elected rivaled anything here, except for Grant Park. I cannot remember seeing anything remotely like that when any other President got elected or re-elected, not Reagan, not Clinton, not Bush, no one.

12. I dont think Hillary will go against his interests
If she is secretary of state, her future rests on the success of Obama's administration. Creating unrest from within the administration would be counter-intuitive towards that. Its in her best interests to serve in a successful Obama Administration and be an effective SoS.

The world does like her, and she is good at getting stuff done. She is not the most experienced in foreign policy, however, but she should be a good SoS.

28. Yes, but she may see her success and that of the Obama administration being
more likely if she pursues her own agenda rather than Obama's.

13. I have trust issues as well. I will be very vigilant with what she is doing.
But if I have any advice for Mr. Obama (knowing that this woman is Fourth in line to the Presidency), I'd say for him to watch his back.

15. Is she going to have Obama, Biden, Pelosi, and Byrd (or his successor)
all rubbed out? If he doesn't like the way she does the job, he can replace her. I don't think there'll be a problem, as Obama has been right on just about everything up to this point.

17. He wont be able to remove her
Politically that will be impossible.

But she has presidential aspirations for 2016. However, a Democrat will have a much lower chance of being elected in 2016 if Obama's presidency is considered a failure like Bush's, not to mention that if Obama is seen as a failure then a high ranking member of his cabinet will likely not get through the primary anyways. Therefore its in her best interest to make sure Obama's presidency is as successful as possible.

That means no internal strife. That means doing a good job as SoS etc etc

We'll see if they (because the Clintons will always be a package deal) will be able to work without any drama. Again, I'll be watching.

18. It won't hurt for Mr. Obama to watch his back.
That's all I said. Now it up to Hillary to prove that she is worthy of the nod. And I truly hope that she doesn't take the route of obliterating a country off the map.

Other than that, I'll be watching to see if Mr. Obama will be sorry for putting so much faith into the woman who cattily mentioned RFK's assassination in reference.

29. What I can't believe is he let Andrea Mitchcell break the story
I can't believe BC's Impeachment Lawyer is White House Council and had to do the negotiations with BC for the pre-clearance of BC's speeches/donors from abroad.

I can't believe that BC's top lawyer who cleared the pardon for Marc Rich will also be the lead on the team to go after the Bushes in all their squalor of the last 8 years.

I can't believe that Hillary Clinton is going to direct the Department of negotiators when she said it was naive to barter with enemies of this country.

I can't believe that Bill Clinton has submitted himself to his wife AFTER ALL THESE YEARS so that she can be the boss of his business affairs.

I can't believe that Obama has the audacity to hope for the best from so many different types of Clintonites even when most of his support base from the primaries didn't want HRC to get anything.

I can't believe Obama made this far by sheer dumb luck.
I can't believe Obama would sacrifice his change message when the hopes of billions (there are people throughout the world who are just as hopeful) want this world to chANGE!
I can't believe I am going to suspend my disbelief over Lieberman, Bill Jesse-Jackson-won-South-Carolina Clinton, and the transition leaks...to say

I voted for Obama to be Senator from Illinois.
I voted for Howard Dean in the primary after Kerry had already won the Democratic nomination.
I voted for BHO (I don't want to call anyone bo) in the primary and general election.

I trust him to make the country better overall. If he makes these strategic decisions early on that vigorously disagree with, I will wait and see what happens before I renounce and reject the results for that.
