Early morning CSPAN2 viewing--R's Potomac "What the heck went wrong" conference.
Just "Wow!". What can you say. I have never sat through an entire Republican run event and actually listened to it. This one was worth viewing though.

First, it was delicious to watch a small group of people, many of whom you see show up as talking heads on the cable shows, sit in sullen silence while they took turns at giving a litany of reasons they lost. The Politico's guy enumerated the depth of the losses and hammered on how Obama had created a new generation of Democrats. Then someone owned up to the fact that, yes, the Rs are truly a regional party and they have to find a way to take back the cities. Of course, the only answer that the dimwits could come up with was Guiliani Reduxe. How's that for being clueless?

Second, it was refreshing to see that one or two of them noted that Reagan has been dead for some time and that the century had changed.

Third, someone threw talk radio under the bus and bemoaned that they have to "find a way to inflitrate the media." Called talk radio messengers the "crazy uncles" you like to keep in the back room. Ha! Ha! It took them better than a decade to get that nifty little megaphone up and running and now they are stuck with Limbaugh and Hannity and their multimillion dollar contracts. It will be a while before they get those monkeys off of their backs.

Fourth, they don't get how do compete with Obama's fundraising and are clearly uncomfortable with dealing with "the people" beyond every city and county's elite. In addition, they don't really get that much is wrong with the message other than Feehery pointed out to them the obvious that the loss of the Hispanic vote and the message amplified through talk radio on immigration probably were connected.

Then, as they commiserated on, you got a pretty good picture of the depth and breadth of Obama's organization. It was probably the best description of the nuts and bolts and strategic thinking I've heard to date. What we have done is nothing less than spectacular! Something to take great pride in and I'm proud to have been a part of the operation too.

If it is repeated, watch it and absorb what we have accomplished. And, then, let's get to work and not screw it up. We need to leave a nation and world to be proud of to those coming behind us.
