Who cares about SOS? Where's our Treasury Secretary?!
George Bush has gone AWOL, choosing to pick ideology over saving our damned economy. Without a decent economy Obama has NO CHANCE of anything he campaigned on.

I worry that he is so interested on not stepping on Bush's toes and in making political friends out of everyone who dissed him that he isn't being the leader we need on the economy.

We are fast getting to a point of no return. Where is Obama? HELP!

2. We definitely care about the Secretary of State.
Some jobs are very important, some less so.

I'm a bit surprised at the lack of acknowledgement of the choice for Homeland Security.

4. But that's exactly the point
They're busy making the biggest mess they possibly can, so that President-elect Obama will end up spending all his time cleaning it up.

And to think the rethugs made a huge stink 8 years ago about members of the Clinton administration supposedly removing all the W keys from their keyboards. It was a lie, of course, but it pales in comparison to the disasters the Bush Misadministration is leaving for Obama.

6. Yes, but I think people are ready to respond to him if only
he says something.

Everytime I see the Dow collapse yet again, all I can think of is "HEY OBAMA WE NEED HELP!". Even the CNBC commentators, who aren't exactly Obama's biggest cheerleaders, are anxiously asking for our Treasury Secretary.

The market started its latest collapse when Paulson said he wasn't going to buy back distressed assets.

5. Do you want Obama to be part of the problem, or part of the solution?
If he jumps in now, without any real power, he will lose some ability to USE his power when he actually IS the President.

I can't believe people here won't give him this time to get all his ducks in a row--to get his team up and ready. I believe he has some spectacular things in the works, and they have to wait until 1/20/09 has come. It would do little good to tip his hand before he can act.

I think waiting to announce Treasury is a smart move. Media talking heads, and some here, would just start tearing the choice down. The less time they have to do that, the better.

This is STILL Bush's folly and HE should get all the blame for the mess.

OBAMA IS NOT THE PRESIDENT YET. Geez!

7. Well to me its like we bought a car...but we can't pick it up for a few months.
In the meantime, the previous owner starts taking a hammer to the car.

So what are you supposed to do? Just say...oh well. Its his responsibility now and he can do whatever he wants?

We are HUNGRY for good news. The stock market is running on pure fear and psychology now. He could make a difference simply by talking about his plans.

8. He has been PE Obama for a little over two weeks---go take a break
Spend some time with your family. It is the season for that.

I disagree that he should "talk about his plans" now. I believe if he does that, the media will thoroughly trash them before he has a chance to implement them. He is starting to give general guidelines on the new website, but beyond that, I don't think he should lay it all out now.

I trust Obama. He will do what is best for us---but it is ALL of us now, and not just Democrats or liberals, that he must represent.

He will be the face, mind, heart and soul of America soon, and I will be so proud--- even when I do not always agree with evey decision he makes. I do know that he will have been deliberate in making those decisions and it will come from a deep and abiding faith that he has in us.

We should not let HIM down. Give him what he needs to be able to govern, when he actually IS the President. 1/20/09.

9. The stock market can't take a break.
Maybe you don't realize that the decline in the stock market is in line with the worst returns we have ever ever had. I'm talking depression type numbers.

Peoples retirement funds are gone. The collapse in the stock market is worse than the collapse in housing. I wonder if people realize it.

10. I understand that--- but Obama doesn't have the power yet.
And whatever he said now would only dilute his ability to actually DO something about it when he is the President. I want him to be President NOW, too, but he isn't.

Oh, you sound like McCain when he kept saying to Obama---you just don't understand. I do realize what is going on--I just disagree that Obama can or should interject himself before he is President.

11. One POTUS at a time.
I would rather Obama take his time and pick the right people than rush into this and possibly make the situation even worse.

14. My money is on Larry Summers. Why not put the guy in charge who helped lead to this collapse?
It makes perfect sense to me.
