1. Very beautiful. The world knows that America is trying to
move in another direction. The American people want peace. We love to travel to other countries, and saying your from America with all this killing going on in the name of money, has probably cause some uneasiness.

4. it must have been so hard for all those Americans living in other countries
They must be thrilled that we have a good president again and that they don't have to be embarrassed any more.

8. I've been overseas since right after 9/11
Here in Germany they were having a love for all things US until the build up to the Iraq war and then it was pretty hard. I was yelled at twice by strangers - things like you are killing people and you will pay. I shouted back "but I voted for Gore!!!" People went from being impressed you were American to looking down at you.

I have several other experiences - I was ordering a doner kebab and the man spoke English and asked where I was from and then he said bush is a horrible man - I said we're trying to get Kerry elected. After the 2004 election it changed - people realized that only half the country was responsible for bush and it wasn't so bad. NOW it's much better - my neighbors woke up at 5am on election to watch the results they woke their kids up b/c they said it was historic. It was a big deal here.

And yes, they all know bush is an embarrassment - and yes, we don't have to be embarrassed anymore.

6. Well done!
Full of hope that at least one president in my lifetime will do the right thing for the working people of America and not just feed the rich.

11. I thought I was through with the tears and the tissues...
Thanks. This makes all the arguing today seem meaningless. Some of us aren't as tuned into Obama as people in other countries... it's sad. I think we've been through a lot of hell for a lot of years.
