I think this is the very first time I see so much talk about cabinet posts and I clearly know why there seems to be so much interest. Some would deny it, but everyone who invested much time in the Obama campaign went(or is still going) through that post-election let down.
There is a void we need to fill , so we start getting cynical about what we fought for and the Obama people are giving us perfect meat by leaking their possible choices for cabinet to test the waters.

I think we know fairly well that cabinet positions don't mean much. The president sets the policy, not the SOS or the SOT. If Obama wants to talk to Iran, Hillary will have to head to Iran or resign. If he doesn't want to go to war, Emanuel, Hillary, Gates or anyone else won't be able to talk him into going to war. Obama will lead, he ain't a puppet like Bush.
Besides, nobody in the Obama campaign minimize the clout of liberal bloggers and organizers , despite what the media say. He won't please us with every decision but he can't afford to totally lose our support. We are Obama's base, it's that simple.
