That Turkey did not die in vain

The poor turkey that was being unceremoniously shredded behind Sarah Palin was a martyr.

He or she gave his or her life so that we might be spared from further serious conjecture about the prospect of a Palin presidency.

Hopefully, the scene of Sarah's cheerfulness in the face of carnage will place her among the ranks of other GOPers who slid from prominence to jokes like Katherine Harris and Dan Quayle.

RIP dear turkey. Let's hope you did not die in vain.
