Why don't any of these AM radio crackpots the Right Wing worships ever run for office? |

Honestly? Demagogues like Limbaugh, Hannity, Dr. Laura, Mike Savage are WORSHIPPED by the rank and file, far more than any of our talking heads. They are looked to for all the amswers, consulted before any stance on an emerging issue becomes party gospel.
Heck, in their circles they're probably more popular than any Republican who actually LEGISLATES for a living. And as much as they love spreading hatred about the left wing, most of them will usually end up blaming Moderate Republicans for the problems in the world today, as well as the Republican voters themselves, on occasion. McCain will forever become a curse word in the GOP vocabulary--but Limbaugh's reputation continues unabated.
But when it comes to taking the battlefield, these people won't actually lead--no ballot appearances, no speeches to the hoi polloi in high school gymnasiums, no working with a team of scrappy volunteers to GOTV. These AM radio hosts be sitting on their fat asses in their AC-cooled studios, ranting and raving and making Millions in the bank until Judgement Day. And their listeners will love them even more for their non-participation. Al Franken had the guts to put his money where his mouth is. So may Chris Matthews, although he's hardly as Liberal as Al.
But candidate Sean Hannity? Never in a million years.

2. If they actually DID anything they'd have to take responsibility for the |
|
results - and they'll never do that.
Not to mention, the money in entertainment is MUCH better.

3. Because people would remember |

when they got it wrong. Their radio listeners don't.

4. If Limbaugh ran: Twenty years of taped shows; an opposition's researcher's wet dream |

And Limbaugh was even more hard core when he first started. It's all on tape.

7. As W said in the 04 Debates: It's HARD! |

EZ to bloviate...any high school radio station jock proves that. To put oneself in The Arena. Nah! Too much like REAL Work!
