Name replacement Senators.
Now that Hillary has taken the SOS job. We have three senators to replace.

Who are your picks?

We might have one more if Kerry get's offered a job as well.

4. Rep. Jan Schakowsky for Obama's Senate seat.
She's my Congresswoman and she would make a fine replacement for Obama.

My feelings won't be hurt, however, if either Jesse Jackson, Jr, Lisa Madigan or Tammy Duckworth is chosen.

12. Madigan has said she has "less than zero" chance at being the replacement
Her and Blago are on the outs, and she will probably try to unseat him in 2010 if he still has the job by then anyhow.

5. Delaware is easy - it'll probably be John Carney, who is currently our Lt. Gov
Beau says he does not want the seat, not that they were offering it to him first but there were rumors.

In Delaware we had a tight race for Governor back during the primaries and Lt. Gov John Carney lost out to the State Treas. Jack Markell. Markell is now the governor and I think Carney will get the appointment.

Personally, I think Carney tossed his race in the end (he was leading most of the way thru) because he wanted that senate seat appointment. But I could be wrong. Personally I would rather have Markell, I think Carney is a bit too much like our other senator, Tom Carper, who is a bit moderate leaning.

6. David Paterson for Hillary
It'd be really mean to take him away from New Yorkers, but he's awesome.

14. I would appoint Mario Cuomo as Senator thru the 2010 election
Give him two years as a Senator until the next election, of course given the age of some of the Senators he could seek his own six year term, he's only 76. But if he decides to retire in 2010 there could be a democratic primary to decide the nominee--and given NY democratic edge we should retain the seat, but in the short term Cuomo would be a strong choice.

22. Nadler or Slaughter come to mind for NY
Jan Schakowsky for Illinois would be great. So would Jesse Jackson Jr. Andrew Cuomo is busy trying to stop Wall Street crookery as the AG of New York right now and I think he should stay there.
