1. I want RFK Jr. for EPA
but if not he'd be a good replacement for Hillary.

3. I'd say Charlie Rangel, but he's a bit old
and had some ethical problems recently, no?

hopefully somebody younger that can be there for several terms?

Anthony Weiner maybe?

4. As I posted on another thread...
I'd love to see Bill Clinton get the spot, but that's never going to happen.

7. would they have a primary or would it just be an
appointment? My pick is Al Sharpton. I think he'd add some flavor that's been missing to the senate. The only problem is possible backlash.

12. Sadly
She is not qualified IMHO to be on the SCOTUS. She was not a constitutional lawyer, has not been an active lawyer for a number of years, has no judicial experience.

9. NPR today
discussed this. I don't remember the name but they mentioned a NYC Hispanic member of the US House who was thought to have a good chance. Keep in mind you are replacing a female Senator, and that the current Governor needs to shore up his credentials for when he runs for re-election.

30. Was it Nita Lowey? or Nydia Velazquez?

One of them should have had a shot at the seat before Hillary.

10. My vote is for
Tom Suozzi. He has done a fantastic job as Nassau County Executive and getting that county out of a severe financial mess after years of republican fuck ups. He knows how to get things done, and fix financial problems. Someone perfect as senator in DC right now.

18. He is blocked
at Governor by Patterson. He is fairly young and ambitious. I think by giving him the senate seat, a second term in 2012 would set him up nicely for a run at president in 2016.

15. Shartpton would be an interesting and entertaining choice, however
I think he might end up pissing off the Democratic leadership and Obama as much as he would piss off the Republicans.

Still love the way he can distill serious issues down to a succint, clever, funny and true sentence.

assuming Hillary actually gets to be Secretary of State, that is. And it IS just an assumption at this point.

27. While I'm no fan of shooting smack
It sure as Hell pales in comparison to being a PNAC war criminal. And anyone who supported that shit would sure look hypocritical condemning a guy who watched his father and uncle get murdered, and later did something stupid to deal with that kind of pain.

22. I doubt it will be any of those people
New York has a very deep House bench and I'm sure it will be a congressman/woman that will be chosen. Weiner is interesting even though he wants to run for mayor probably, but there is also Jerrold Nadler or Carolyn Maloney or Louise Slaughter to name a few.

24. Someone was saying the other night on
the radio while I was driving home that Paterson might appoint Andrew Cuomo since it would remove him from challenging him when he runs for reelection.

Who knows?

There are a lot of good options.
