Why are everybody's panties all in a bunch?
Sure, things suck. But things sucked before and there was no hope, now we have hope. For all the hand wringing going on on this side of the isle the other side is totally freaking out. For years I came to DU and listened to how we just couldn't wait till the neo-cons were history. Couldn't wait to watch them squirming in the breeze, the knowledge that their day is over and the new generation is coming. Well they are beyond squirming. They have gone off the deep end and come back up the other side. Here are some of my favorites:

"The country is center-right"  What are you fucking kidding me?

"I think many in the conservative movement, if you will, believe that the Republican Party took over the conservative movement and kind of ran it off the road." They don't know whether they are conservatives or republicans anymore."

"This(election) was a rejection of Bush, it was not a rejection of that which is conservative. George Bush did not govern as a conservative.   No comment.

And my favorite: "A nation whose people can't say "Merry Christmas" is a nation capable of ruining its own economy."   That's right. Jesus fucked up the economy because your favorite retailer selling Jesus soap on a rope forgot to say Merry Christmas. Of course considering Jesus was a Jew I'm sure he would prefer a nice Happy Channuaka.

C'mon folks chill. This is hilarious stuff. We're at the point now where they are so lost they will say anything in hopes that the onslaught of a new generation will be stemmed. They are trying to sow discourse, and while the rest of America, and the world for that matter, seem to be laughing it off, DU is giving them exactly what they want. Infighting. We can fix all this, as long as we stick together.

In the meantime the auto workers will end up keeping their jobs, a court will overturn Prop 8 the economy will go into recovery as soon as Obama gets sworn in and most importantly of all, you have a President who will tell you the truth. You may not like everything Obama does but this is no George Bush, the buck will stop with Obama and Obama will stand up and admit if he fucks something up. Obama is facing a mountain of shit. We're all going to have to grab a shovel if we want to help him get through it.
