Top Republican says Obama "off to a good start"

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A top Republican said on Friday that Democratic U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is "off to a good start" and indicated he was pleased to see President George W. Bush get ready to leave.

"Our members, in one way, are kind of relieved by the departure of an administration that became unpopular and made it very difficult for us to compete," Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell told reporters on Capitol Hill.

In part because of Bush's unpopularity, Obama won the White House and Democrats expanded their majorities in the U.S. Congress in the November 4 elections.

1. unpopularity aint the issue. They murdered a million people

but, we can't win that argument nohow....
(the thesis is that, after WW2 americans were socialists, sort of, so undermining faith in gov/common interests began, and, after JFK murder/'coup' certain domestic unmentionables became factored into the politics. Hohum. The 60's begat reagan, and reagan begat foxnews/bill clinton, which finally begat the Youngster (mr bush jr)...in other words, a systemic overthrow of representative democracy has been going on for years, which allows such spectacles as the 'october surprise', Iran-Contra scandal, war on drugs, 911, Clarence Thomas, the oj simpson tv show ie 'liberalism is the purest evil' and of course the money thing, and all the taking candy from baby rambo aka you, etc...)
