Obama seeks to create 2.5m jobs
Edited on Sat Nov-22-08 09:16 AM by DCBob
US President-elect Barack Obama says he wants his economic team to find ways to generate 2.5 million new jobs during his first two years in office. In a weekly address on the internet, Mr Obama said he wanted to sign the plan soon after taking office on 20 January.

=========

That's exactly the kind of words and action this country needs right now. I do believe this guy is going to make good things happen once he gets in office.

Here's more:

President-elect Barack Obama on Saturday outlined his plan to create 2.5 million jobs in coming years to rebuild roads and bridges and modernize schools while developing alternative energy sources and more efficient cars. "These aren't just steps to pull ourselves out of this immediate crisis; these are the long-term investments in our economic future that have been ignored for far too long," Obama said in the weekly Democratic radio address. The economic recovery plan being developed by his staff aims to create 2.5 million jobs by January 2011, and he wants to get it through Congress quickly and sign it soon after taking office. He called the plan "big enough to meet the challenges we face" and said that it will jump-start job creation but also "lay the foundation for a strong and growing economy." Aides said the economic plan outlined Saturday went further that the president-elect has gone before.

7. That's what I want to hear. Without job creation and some
reestablishment of the manufacturing base, we will remain in a house of cards economy.

9. If I were him, I'd roll back the Bewsh cuts and start the tax plan NOW.
You're gonna need revenue for these projects, and thanks to the Failure Fuhrer, we have approximately less than ZILCH to start with. This should be an emergency level situation that demands emergency level action - roll back the Bewsh Tax Cuts. Der Shitface's occupations are going to end eventually (which should also be getting underway, as that will save this country 10 billion a month) but not now.
