37. You've made it your sole purpose to shut down any discussion about appointments.
Why do you not want people to discuss their views regarding Obama's decisions? Why are you bullying others into not expressing their opinions?

3. No Kennedy or Kennedy-connected person? Not even Robert Kennedy Jr for EPA? Interesting.
Very interesting.

I don't know who a lot of these people are. But I hope Gephardt doesn't re-emerge in a Dem. cabinet. I don't think he communicates very well. Nothing personal.

I would hope he finds a place for Hagel, but I'm guessing he keeps Gates on for continuity as Sec of Def. But Hagel's ideas seem to be in tune with Obama about wars in general and the Iraq War, in particular.

I put even more blame on him than even Joe Lieberman for the Dems caving on the IWR. He has more blood on his hands than anyone in the Democratic caucus.

...Linda Chavez-Thompson, former AFL-CIO vice president for Labor Sec'y

and TOUGH choice between Tammy Duckworth and Max Cleland for Veterans Affairs. Damn - BOTH of them are qualified and deserving - both deserve a spot there - or somewhere, in an Obama administration.

9. I heard on our local news that...
Former Rep. David Bonior isn't interested in being Labor Secretary. I hope Colin Powell doesn't get an appointment. I also hope Obama doesn't take away too many Governors: Richardson, Sebelius, and Napolitano. I want Obama to pick the best but it would be nice if he doesn't hurt the Dems at the state level.

11. Some interesting points:
Too much to comment on in detail, but here are some of my thoughts:

Max Cleland was VA secretary in the Carter administration, and rumor around here in Georgia is that he might be thinking about a run for Governor in two years when Sonny Perdue's term is up.

Dick Gephardt for Labor seems like a no-brainer, although I've heard some noises about Andy Stern of the SEIU in that role, as well.

Powell for Education Secretary? That's just weird. I know it's widely speculated, but it's still strange to me considering he doesn't have a background in education as far as I know.

Knowles for Interior is another great choice.

I've heard a LOT of speculation about Arnold Schwarzenegger as the "token Republican" at Energy or the EPA. We could do worse, although I'm thinking he has his eye on Feinstein's Senate seat in a couple of years and won't stay long.

18. Oregon's former Gov. John Kitzhaber
would be spectacular at Interior, but according to the local papers here in WA state, he's not been in contact with the transition team. Or at least he won't admit to be contacted.

34. Kitzhaber would be an excellent choice! He'd keep things close to
the vest if he had been contacted, but I'm not sure I see him accepting the position if he was asked. But he's a choice I'd absolutely love and he'd be great.

42. This site is officially useless if people here don't oppose Brennan
It's an indictment of Obama that he's even considering him to head up the CIA. Appointing him would be the equivalent of putting Cheney there.

IF he picks Brennan, that will be a litmus test for DU. People that tell people like me to shut up when we criticize him might as well pull out the pom-poms and officially put a bumper sticker on their car that says "Cheerleaders for Obama". Because there's no excuse for defending that pick. None.
