Obama critics: Check in here |
|
It is good to criticize Obama. Hell, he deserves it, right? He doesn't know what he's doing, he's inexperienced, why, he's just an elite community organizer.
And we all hate the DLC, DNC, Dwhatever, cuz they all hate us and haven't done one thing right, so screw 'em.
And what the hell has changed, so far? Nothing.
We need to stick together, us Obama critics, cuz the whole world is against us, and we have all the answers. We are the Right!
And where's that big-baby-bottle of Change we was promised? EH?
*********** pretty good freeper impression, wouldn't you say?

Don't discuss. Don't disagree. Don't think.
The 90's were perfect.
Demnocrats were a strong effective opposition during the Bush Era.
If you criticize Obama, you're not a patriot. Why do you Obama critics hate America?

13. You are so right - Armstead. I rarely see posts that say Obama |
|
is "inexperienced". There is nothing wrong whatsoever with an open discussion about political moves - the pluses and minuses. It doesn't mean you don't think Obama will be a great president. To me, threads that imply you can not bring up any points you want for discussion, are very scary.

On the one hand, nobody is seriously saying people shouldn't post what they want. The posts claiming they are being censored or silenced are just BS crybaby posts.
On the other hand, posters who do criticize Obama don't seem to be able or willing to take criticism. Hypocricy!

29. Here's my take: Who gives anyone the right to say someone is a "Cry Baby" |
|
It strikes me as just name calling and offers no value to the points the OP (however hyperbolic or emotional) is trying to make. You may not agree - but why not provide an intellectual reply on why you don't agree?
I don't see the "criticism" of Obama action critics you mention. For instance, a critique might be "Daschle is a bad choice for the following reasons." A criticism of that would be "no, he is a good choice for the following reasons."
Instead people may criticize a Daschle pick - and the contra post is "Trust him" or "he knows what he's doing" or "give him a chance." IMHO, these comments contribute zero and stifle discussion.

"To me, threads that imply you can not bring up any points you want for discussion, are very scary."
Good constructive criticism is not the issue here. It is the posts that are nothing more than 'crybabies' that is the issue. You say its scary to imply that someone can't bring up points for discussion, and then you ask "who has the right to say..." You can't have it both ways. Not here anyway. Asking for such, I label as being a crybaby. Let freedom ring!

|
When I see valid criticism of the President Elect, I'll be the first to engage in discussion (as it is, as you said, a Discussion Board).
However, since I've merely seen prognostications based on consequences that have not yet happened (at best), I imagine many posters will simply allow your post all the considerations it's due...

14. "pretty good freeper impression, wouldn't you say?" |

Absolutely, but several misspelled words would have made it more convincing.
Irony: That much of the wah-wah is coming from some of Obama's staunchest supporters, who especially during the primaries, made monumental efforts to convince us he actually was "the one. Now that most of us, Hillary supporters included, have been convinced of his ability to lead, mostly through our own efforts to view Obama with an even hand over the ge, the same cheerleaders are throwing buckets of cold water on the very thing they worked so hard to achieve. I believe they actually thought a new pony was coming, and that everything Clinton would magically disappear, instantly transforming America into a liberal eden. Some people are just mad because Obama likes the Clintons. They can't stand sharing him with "those people". Amusing in a wierd kind of way. Thanks. quickesst

The only thing that I have to add, is that Obama is not even in office yet. There have been threats that Obama better do this or better do that or all hell is going to break loose. Well no doubt. And if does things that go against everything that he ran on, then I will be there standing right next to you.
But he is not even president yet. And everything he has done so far is exactly what he said he was going to do.
I am not sure what the criticism is, but he has not made a move yet that he did not run on. And that is huge
Let me edit this to add: Of course if you disagree on what Obama ran on, then that is a totally different ball of wax. I just realized I made an assumption that people agreed with what Obama ran on , and they may not have. Good liberal disagree on things

You're painting a picture of someone who would criticize Obama--as a stupid, know-it-all who throws out insults and whines like a baby.
I haven't criticized a great deal, because I'm reserving judgment until Obama's cabinet and other advisers are announced. I don't get upset about one pick, because I believe (and I could be wrong) that Obama's cabinet will be more about 'the total picture" than any ONE person.
I also believe that part of the "change" he was promising, means an end to the horrific partisan divisions that have fractured this country. I expected that he would place Republicans, centrist Dems and Progressives in his cabinet, as an example for our entire country--that we CAN work together.
With that said, what is so awful about someone asking questions or expressing disappointment or concern? Are you the frickin thought police? This IS a political messageboard, is it not? Are you suggesting that everyone who criticizes Obama or his choices is some moronic defective?
I think everyone deserves to have a voice, and to be heard. You don't have to agree with the person, but your over-the-top caricature of someone who expresses any less-than exuberant emotion about Obama or his recent choices--is a bit loony and controlling don't you think?
It reminds me of the way Rush Limbaugh criticizes Democrats--describing an outrageous, lie-based version of a Democrat and then making an argument against that type of Democrat.
Since when do Democrats--and people on DU--think that Obama is "inexperienced" or an "elite community organizer."?
Your opinion--that people shouldn't criticize Obama is your opinion. Just one opinion. Try not to go off the deep end and assume that having an opinion entitles you to rip everyone who does not think exactly they way that you do.

I read your scribbles. What I come away with is that you think my complaining about the anti-Obama screeds should not be allowed or somehow be restricted. That I have no right to complain. That I should censor myself. That I should be ashanmed for voicing my one opiion.
Gawd.

Clearly, I said that you were entitled to your opinion.
Clearly, I said that what was so outrageous--was your over-the-top caricature of someone who disagrees with Obama. You didn't need to degrade an entire class of people.
THAT was my criticism of you.
It was rude. It was obnoxious. It wasn't even rooted in the truth.
