Our newest Adoptee!
As some of you DUer's are aware, my wife(Happy Iowan) and I provide an offshoot to the Humane Soceity for stray, special needs and wayward cats. We had 20 to start the year, however, we lost four ( Little Lioness, Wud-wud, The Rajah Judah & Boogie) to old age, sickness and an accident. I'm sitting here with our newest - an 11 year old female who survived the flooding up in Cedar Rapids this summer. Her name was a no-brainer for the wife and I. In a nod to reconciliation and an optimistic future, we welcome Hillary to our humble household.

3. Crusoe
I never got the chance to toast one with you on that historic night. Watching that scene unfold at Grant Park left me weeping with joy. It will be a moment we all take to our grave as a highlight of our lives. I have such hope and confidence in this man. I think the next eight years will be some of our brightest. Of this, I am sure. Good to hear from you, old buddy!

5. Condem, you could not be more correct -- it was a glorious night
to be an American citizen.

The world was rooting for us to make the right choice, and we didn't let them down!

I look back on the last year and a half in U.S. politics and I still can't believe it. What a lift.

A big blue hug. And you folks take care of that new kitty-cat.

8. Re: "Her name was a no-brainer for the wife and I."
If you left out mentioning your wife, would your have written the sentence as "a no-brainer for I" ? Nope. You'd have said "a no-brainer for me." You need to do the same when you add in a mention of your wife.

This way: "Her name was a no-brainer for the wife and me."

I'm pretty new to the computer generation. I don't know how to do this. Maybe my wife knows. Cellphone? She's beautiful, though. Angry, but beautiful.

I'm the sucker in the family for the lost felines. I'm afraid we'd have fifty given the opportunity.

10. I applaud you for your efforts.....
we just rescued a new ferret yesterday(8 now). She has been abused and has lost the use of her back legs. We will do everything we can to either rehabilitate her or just make her as comfortable as possible. Good luck with Hillary. :toast:

You can use a free picture hosting site like flickr or photobucket.

Upload your pictures to the site and then copy and paste the url of the picture into a post here on DU.

I'll be honest with you. Alot of heartbreak when you lose one. And, sadly, we've lost a ton of friends in the last fifteen years. Good cheer tonight, though.

26. what do you need help with.
find an image hosting website (I use Image event) and then it's www.photourl.com

If you post the URL on here, I can post the pics. Must.have.kitty.pics (especially after spending all day at a cat show)

27. Mrs. Condem here....
hi. Welcome to the house of Luddites. No digital camera and alas, I haven't set up my cell phone email though I've had the phone for months. Alas - however, I have an incentive. And so - when next Condem mentions his cats, I'll have pictures at the ready and will hold his hand as I bravely step with him into the 21st century.
