or wrong mantra

of course rethugs were nuts and fascist, just wanted to stamp out any dissent

guess what?

dissent and factionalism and criticism is the ESSENCE of DEMOCRACY

so anyone who wishes the critics would go stifle themselves, take note of where those sentiments lead

2. And, conversely,
Don't confuse the premature ejaculation of faux outrage and claims of abandoning the base and failure of promises until we hear from the President-elect.

And, maybe, watching what he actually DOES when he actually gets into office..

Conversely,

It's really charming to listen to Du'ers who allow media reports and spin to control the dialog.....

9. straw man
Edited on Sun Nov-23-08 08:16 PM by amborin
why use a straw man argument?

it's fallacious reasoning

why try to attribute positions to someone when that someone doesn't hold those positions?

it's like Bush saying to critics, "hey critics, you're in league with radical terrorists"

10. Hog shit and garlic is still hog shit and garlic.
Nobody here is above criticism. Criticizing the cynics and crybabies is great sport.

3. There's nothing wrong with criticism...
..the people I'm getting sick of are the DU'ers who have been openly threatening to leave the party and become Naderites or even join the GOP.

THAT'S just preposterous--you just can't convince me Obama's done ANYTHING so far to merit that extreme reaction.

Criticism, yes. Turncoat-ism, no. The election was only two and a half weeks ago, fer Crissakes!

5. so you don't mind this little bit of dissent, I'm sure.
Your post is a stupid strawman. No one is stifling speech here. Blather on to your heart's content with your silly and false comparison.

You get to say whatever you want. The catch, dear, is that so do I.

got that?

14. Heh
So those here who disagree with and challenge those who dissent from and criticize this yet-to-be-borne Obama administration, are now being equated with republicans who tried their best to beat back the anti-war folks?

Do you really equate discussion on this board with the real world stifling we experienced under bushco?

You really think that the strong feelings of protecting the Obama administration from critics here, is tantamount to stifling dissent in the broader world?
