Obama appointing more key economic advisers quicker than any president ever.
President-elect Barack Obama is announcing the members of his economic team today in Chicago. After today he will have appointed more key economic advisers more quickly than any president ever before. It's a move his advisers hope will calm the markets and send a signal that he's on top of the financial crisis. But to put this into perspective: Obama has already done more than any president has ever done this quickly.

========

Today's press conference will look and sound like a real presidential press conference. There will be millions watching and hanging on his every word. This will be a huge event and will signal the beginning of the transition of power.

3. Back in 1916
Wilson was discussing resigning once the Electoral College voted, to allow Charles Evan Hughes a chance to start out early, even though mo one thought that would be legal. Of course, Wilson ended up winning, so his plans became moot.

Maybe we need another amendment: should the President die or resign after the voting of the Electoral College, the President-Elect becomes President automatically.

4. I don't think he has much of a choice. In this economy he'll
have to hit the ground running.I'm glad he's preparing for just that.
