Perino To Obama Admin: "I'll give you eight months" |
|
"We took it from all sides, and it was difficult," Perino says. "When you're that close to your boss, it's hard sometimes not to take it personally." Perino marvels at the glowing press that Barack Obama has gotten -- "He was a great candidate, a phenomenal candidate," she says -- but warned his incoming chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, that it wouldn't last forever. "I'll give you eight months," she told him. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/23/AR2008112302433.html?nav=rss_opinion/columns

1. It probably won't even last that long--but Perino has conveniently |
|
forgotten that rather handy national tragedy that sent Bush's approval ratings (albeit undeservingly) into the stratosphere and the news media fell all over itself in the race to see who could give him the most sloppy, loving blowjob.

for months on end ignoring the warnings, not to mention the pet goat incident, and get a 90% approval rating for it. :wtf:

5. Obama is a new kind of politics... |
|
Perino is assuming that Obama will follow a similar trajectory as Bush---press falls in love, press falls out of love.
Sorry, Ms Perino--Bush began his presidency shouting to all of us, "Ya see here! I've got political capital! And I intend to spend it!"
The man was an asshole right out of the starting gate.
Furthermore, Obama doesn't intend to destroy the Constitution, bankrupt our country, lie us into a bottomless war, illegally wiretap Americans, take away Habeas Corpus, practically declare himself a dictator, squander our reputation in the world, enrich the oil companies, act like an asshole on the world's stage, govern with an out-of-control Unitary Executive model, allow torture, circumvent the Geneva Convention, allow his VP to craft our nation's energy policy in secret---and behave like a complete buffoon every damn day of his Presidency.
It's a new day Ms Perino, and you are a blind fool if you think that Bush's problems centered around the press falling out of favor with him---or if you believe that Bush a vicimt, and not responsible for his plummeting popularity.

About nine months ago? The love affair -- if there ever was one -- with Obama end months ago.

9. Good riddance to Perino. |
|
Bush's honeymoon with the MSM lasted almost 6 years. It wasn't until the public woke up to the reality of the Iraq War that the media turned against him. Obama will be lucky if the MSM gives him a full year to turn everything around. Heck, they're already second-guessing his intentions.

...it doesn't sound very convincing. I'm unlikely to be moved to pity someone who's done nothing little but lie for money.
(edit: and who's done it so poorly.)

Okay, I got it.
Bush was never in control of anything. Yes, Perino does not see the irony in her statement.

Obama is working to do the best for the country ..not covering up pillaging and plundering.
It's a whole new ballgame..not that shit isn't going to happen but it will be out of their control not something they could have prevented with only using their brains and having a fucking plan B.
What a simpering :silly:
