Was there ever such a transition time
when the new president elect was called to get involved, when many could not wait for him to take office and for the old one to just disappear?

1. The respect and energy level in that press conference was palpable
and rightly so

there's never been ANY moment, remotely resembling this one, in US History

3. Was not around in '32 but I don't remember Clinton in '92
having press conferences, offering hope and reassurance to us.. Of course the stock market was not in such a dire straits and... we were in the process of moving, again, so I may not have followed the news that closely.

4. I don't remember any thing like this with Clinton in 92, and
I'm not old enough to remember 32. I hear Roosevelt and Hoover were hardly on speaking terms.

5. Clinton held the economic summit with all kinds of heavy hitters...
and here in DC a group of self-described "fat ladies" complete with Viking helmets, sand outside the White House. They were great.
