Yes, I know, redundancy.
However, instead of starting to talk about 2012 - to an electorate that does not care to hear about more campaigns any time soon - they need to think about 2010. This is when, historically, the party in control loses seats in Congress. If they will not - as we did not in 2002 - they can forget about capturing the White House in 2012.
And this is what we will have to concentrate. Not on ditzy Palin's 2012 plans, but on keeping our majority. Especially if, as Obama tells us, it may take as long as his first term to implement his plans.
