Who else wishes they could relive the sheer excitement of November 4, 2008?
Leaving my house knowing that from the few early results that Obama was winning South Carolina of all places, even though I knew it wouldn't last. Arriving at the election party and seeing Obama ahead by over 100 EVs and knowing it was now a matter of not if, but when. Being taunted by a McCain supporter and telling her "Laugh all you want, you know your guy is going to lose." And of course, the moment when I saw "Barack Obama elected 44th POTUS" at the bottom of the screen in yellow letters and hearing an explosion of cheers and happiness all around me. And knowing it was a moment I helped bring about by filling in a circle on a paper ballot.

Truly a night I won't soon forget.

3. Only because I was very sick that day
I barely made it through my work at the polls, and spent the next two days in bed with a stomach flu.

That's ok because I'm looking forward to January 20. That will be the real day of celebration.

5. There's are several videos on YouTube that bring back that moment
Look up "A Night to Remember", put together by DailyKos.

6. Ya know what I've been playing over and over?
This:

Don't get me wrong. I am never going to forget election night. When the official announcement was made, I was on the phone with my brother, squealing with joy, because I knew Obama was going to win. We were sharing the wonderfulness of it all when he stopped me and said: "They just announced it. It's official."

The thing is, a couple of days after the amazing moment I posted in the above YouTube, a certain old fart introduced his hateful little running mate and it was if the above had never happened. Well, it did happen and thanks to YouTube, I get to relive it.

Enjoy.
