Watching CNBC, it appears that Obama walked on water this morning!
The commentators, not just on CNBC, but everywhere it seems are ooh-ing and Ah-ing our guy almost as much as we were doing the day before the election!

I always get suspicious when this happens.....it is after all the Corporate media we are talking about, and we know that they are never up to no good.

Is it because Obama now has a free hand with the FCC, or will shortly?

Is it because our finances are in such dire straits, talking heads have no alternative, if they want to keep their shirts and possibly their jobs?

Is it because Obama may stall on the tax increases for high income earners....perhaps.

Is it because Bush is so fucked up, doing any short of praising Obama would take the Stock Market into a downward tailspin?

Or is it because our guy really is that good?

All I know is this better not be setup....cause Obama did not....I repeat, did not have shit to do with the fucked up state of our financial affairs.

So what's up?

1. The contrast with Bush
I think is the main thing. Every time Bush talks about the economy, you can actually hear jobs being lost and constables placing locks on foreclosed homes. In addition Bush talks to us as if we are idiots like him. He inspires negative confidence.

Obama speaks like a man who understands the stuff he is saying and who will do what it takes to get America back on track. Obama doesn't sugar coat shit much either. The contrast this morning with the bumbling Bush and Paulson vs Obama was striking.

5. I hope that is what it is.....
Cause if they'd have asked me, I could have told them a long time ago, that Bush was a major fuck up without an intelligent thought in his head. Guess Bush had to prove that he was nothing more than not only a dumbass, but a calamity waiting to happen year after year after year.

so that consumers will go shopping in time for Christmas?

3. Maybe they are just so hungry for leadership on the issue of
the economy that right now they are hanging on his every word. They may dissect everything he said today overnight and be super negative tomorrow. You never know with those guys.

4. Are they gearing up to be concern trolls?
The stock market is going to do it's thing for a while, and I'm convinced the only thing moving it is fear and correction. It's going to vacillate until it hits its real support level, and nothing anyone says or does is going to make that much difference until it hits that level.

I am concerned that the talking heads are ga ga over Obama right now... it's so... unnatural. Maybe they are sucking up so Obama is "good" to them? Bush made Faux News his choice. Maybe they think Obama is going to do something similar?

I'd ignore the lot of them if I were Obama.

I hope she makes a killing with her tell-all book, and I hope she divorces her worse half and walks away with more than she can carry.

Mostly, I want to read the book:)

Michelle is going to be a great first lady, no question! It's been far too long since we've had a woman of her intelligence in that position. I can't wait.

8 years, to be precise. But while Hill probably matches Michele on IQ, I'll give Michele points on character.

21. I'm not sure who I hate more...
The rabid pro-Hillary people, or the rabid anti-Hillary people.

I don't think any of them really get it... or her.

During the primary, I slammed a slice of DUers with one post (I wish I could remember what the hell I said) and there were two comments on my post. One calling me an Obamaniac, and the other calling me a Hillarybot.

It's almost show time and I for one can't wait to see what the Democrats are going to do. Plus the Obama family is completely newsworthy in a great way. America is dying to get to know them.

19. I don't know what's up.
During the campaign they (Corporate media) had me a bit skitzy due to their seemingly good will towards Obama.

I am not one of those who cried in relief after the election. I didn't do that until several days afterward. I kept waiting for the bad news to hit.

I can't trust them. They upheld this criminal admin for 8 years. I can't forgive them for that either.

All I can do is watch & wonder what the hell they are up to. It doesn't pay to get too comfy.

26. Follow the money. It's all about the 900 pt rise in the stock market within 48 hours.
That's the biggest two-day rise in Wall Street history since Oct. 1987. CNBC never stopped attacking Obama as a quasi-commie during
the primary and election, so take the oohing/aahing as pure self-interest.

The MSM is comprised of journalists in a system they do not control. They didn't create the water they have to swim in. They have no option but to swim.

The answer is in their eyes during the conference Monday morning. The excitement caused by the new Administration's clear professionalism and recognition of the historic gravity of the moment... was in their faces. They were ecstatic to be a part of this moment... to, for once, possibly, have the liberty to do what they were trained to do.

The personality of a corporation... the energy, is generated from the top down. Obama's professionalism and attitude is contagious.

Let this building momentum be a tidal wave that the status quo cannot stop.

They want this too... just like WE do. After all, they ARE Americans, eh?

32. Listen to Bush then listen to Obama
This is a unbelievably tough situation that the global economy is in. It might get worse no matter what we do. But Obama is hope, Bush is hopeless. Everyone is looking for a reason to have some hope right about now.
