Obama wants to get legislation passed...he is buying off the Republicans for two years

So, he can get his legislation passed.

Frankly, I don't know what the hell he SHOULD do. I understand what he is doing, and maybe it will work. Maybe if he appeases enough Republican to get his actual policies passed into law, he will be able to goven.

I have come to believe two things.

Obama is trying to work & rebuild a broken system.

I don't know if it will work. I don't know because the old system has crashed & burned and it needs to be rebuilt anew. Do you take the smoldering ruins of a corrupt system and try to paste it together & hope the Elmers hold? That is what Obama is going to try to do. And, really, if you are really, really honest with yourself...well, what the other choice does he really have?

Because the other choice won't come from him or any of the current servants of the corporate powers that be (and that is what you become by default in playing within the system - although a there is a good bet Obama might BEAT it. He is smart as hell. And, he is putting together one hell of a team, but I digress). The other choice is the people revolt and a third party and new system comes up. This will solely be determined by whether Obama can pull off a miracle and rebuild this mess. But, if he can't (and I know he is going to try like hell), the revolution will come. Millions in bread lines & homeless is what creates that type of thing.

1. (shrug) It'll either work, or it'll be another episode of....

Sure as hell can't fault a man for an intelligent, informed *attempt*, though.

2. I just think Obama wants a very diverse cabinet, with lots of different viewpoints
The biggest problem with Bush was that he surrounded himself with hard core Republican Yes Men. No differing viewpoints were allowed. Obama seems determing to get as much advice as possible. I don't have a problem with that at all.
