It is not a year ,it is two years.The current tax cuts expire at the END of 2010.NO ONE on earth can even make a good guess as to what the economic situation will be like then.Stay very flexible!

Unless you make tax increases retroactive to the beginning of 2009, odds are it would be effective January 2010 anyway. So its one year.
I have never heard Obama say he wanted to raise taxes retroactively. If you have heard him say that, please cite sources.
